Sanctuary Church responds to Delaware Valley Democratic Club's letter

“Moonies” is a pejorative term use to refer to followers of the late Rev. Sun Myung Moon, the Lord of the Second Advent. To us, it is similar to the “n” word used in referring to African Americans.
1. What difference does it make which news source a person watches, does that diminish their right to express what they believe? We are all Americans and last time I checked, the First Amendment guarantees our right to free speech.
2. We should respectful of other people’s opinions, whether we agree with them or not. That used to be common courtesy in this country and is what distinguishes us from totalitarian states where free speech is not permitted.
3. Matt Cartwright should represent all the citizens in this voting district, whether we agree with him or not. Frequently, I don’t agree with his positions. All the more reason to get off my duff and go to the meeting to fight for truth and my values which I recognize is also your right.

Lots of misinformed questions at Congressman Cartwright’s town hall
Letter to the editor of The Pike County Courier February 27, 2019
There were a lot of moonies and gun-loving “nationalists” Congressman Matt Cartwright’s town hall, asking all sort of Fox News misinformed questions, like eliminating gun-free zones everywhere, and building the wall to defend against immigrants’ invasion.
More than ever, we need to express our values and our truth with letters to the editor of our local press. People need to learn the reality of our world, not the fake reality of Fox News. We are their targets — keep up the good fight!
