Treasures of Heaven Summer Camp 2017
2017-05-26 · Source: tparents.org
Our annual family event for Blessed Children (aged 16 and over) who have some mental and/or physical disability and their parents.
Dates: 8 - 13 July 2017 (for participants), 7 - 13 July 2017 (for staff and volunteers) Location Camberg, Neumühle Seminar Centre Fee: 160 Euros for ToH participants / 70 Euros for volunteers Deadline for applications: 10th June 2017
The organizing team this year is comprised of: Catriona Valenta, Marco Rivetti, Joyce Koetsier, David Hanna and Grace Cho. We will have other staff members helping, and each ToH young person will be assigned a ‘buddy’ from our raft of young volunteers.
Once again, the wonderful environment of the Camberg seminar centre will provide the setting for this year’s Treasures of Heaven Summer Camp. This programme is tailored to suit the needs of blessed children with physical and/or mental disabilities – personal circumstances that would prevent them from joining in regular youth workshop activities. This is now a mainstream event forming an important part of our Europe-‐wide summer activities for young people, under the ESGD motto for Summer 2017 (and with the same T-‐shirts!):
“Difference Makers” Fearless. Centred. Hopeful
At least one parent is required to accompany their child. During the programme, where appropriate, parents and children will be offered separate sessions -‐ but in close proximity to each other. This way kids get a well-‐earned break from their parents and parents get a well-‐ earned break also! There again, it is a family event – so there will be activities together as well – singing and mealtimes, an outing and entertainment, a campfire and more.
As Camberg has limited space, please register early. We have managed to keep the fee at the same level as last year -‐ 160 euros per person. Our European Communities are once again contributing to a fund to support the participating families and we hope to be able to reimburse a part of your fee from the donations received. This will be done just prior to your departure when we have a full picture of the finances.
However, should any family have particular difficulty in meeting the initial workshop fees and travel costs, please get in touch with us and we can discuss further sponsorship on a case-‐ by-‐case basis. Please remember that the financial outlay should not be a barrier to your participation! Do contact staff well ahead of time if you know you will require additional sponsorship (please do not be shy or embarrassed to ask).
Also, we welcome your ideas and input at the planning stage to help us shape the
programme to the participants’ needs and wishes. No one knows your child better than you: his or her hobbies, skills and limitations, physical and mental situation, dietary needs, etc. Upon registration you will be asked questions relating to your child’s specific needs and interests – the information you provide will greatly help the staff to make the Summer Camp an enjoyable and helpful experience for your child and for you.
If you have any specific questions regarding your personal situation or what to expect, please contact: Grace Cho, grace@ esgd, org or David Hanna dh@ hanna.plus, com

A Call for Volunteers and Financial Support for the Treasures of Heaven Summer Camp 2017
Dear Families of our European Communities,
We are happy to announce that we are holding once again a Summer Camp for our Blessed Children who have some mental and/or physical disability and their families. It will take place 8-‐13 July in the Neumühle Seminar Centre, Camberg, Germany.
We consider it a mainstream event – one of our summer programmes for youth and this year it is being held under the common theme of:
“Difference Makers” Fearless. Centred. Hopeful. Volunteers If you would like to volunteer – either as an adult with experience or interest in this area, or as a young person who would like to serve your brothers and sisters by being a ‘buddy’ for the week (and learning a lot in the process), please register here:
goo.gl/forms/8JL7cP8AfxK71LWf1
To get an idea of what to expect at this type of workshop please feel free to have a look through the photos and reports from previous workshops, on our facebook group: www,facebook,com/ToHSite/ and website: toh2016.wordpress,com
Volunteers are asked to arrive on the 7 July for staff orientation and are asked to pay a
reduced fee of 70 euros. (If there is any difficulty with this, please contact the staff well in advance and we will do our best to help you raise the funds). Please be aware that we will need to balance the number of volunteers with the number of participants. Therefore, we kindly ask you to first wait for confirmation from us, before booking any travel. We aim to respond to all volunteer applications by the 10th June 2017.
If you have any questions or require further information about volunteering at the workshop, please contact: Grace Cho grace@ esgd, org or Joyce Koetsier joycekoetsier@ gmail, com
Financial Support For our participating families, attending the workshop can be quite costly – there is a 160 euro per person participation fee (and as no child can come alone, at least one parent must attend as well). They will have additional travel costs on top of this, of course. Therefore, we are asking again for help from blessed families in communities throughout Europe. With the financial support received, we will be able to offer some subsidy to participating families and the essential volunteer staff.
We are so grateful for all your help in past years – without this extra support it would be very difficult to run the programme.
You might even like to host a special fundraising activity in your community! If you do – please send us some pictures and we can include it in our report – we know that True Mother herself is very interested in this ministry we have set up in Europe.
How to donate: If you feel inspired to support the Summer Camp, please make a donation in one of the following ways:
1. Donations via Paypal (preferred): TOHeurope@ gmail, com 2. Donations via Credit or Debit Card: Please click on the ‘donate’ button on our website: toh2016.wordpress,com (Feel free to share the website with friends and family who may also be interested in supporting us.)
Please be assured that even if we receive many small donations it can make a big difference! Contributions could take the form of a personal donation, a gift from a community fund or a National Headquarters. It would help us greatly if donations were made before the end of June, so that we are able to budget accordingly.
Thank you once again and God bless you,
Yours, David Hanna & Grace Cho (On behalf of the Treasures of Heaven Ministry, European Blessed Family Department and the European Second Generation Department).
