Clarification or correction concerning Special Grace for Blessed Children

2016-09-10 · Source: tparents.org

On page 7 of the original memo regarding the Special Grace (Ref. No. FFWPUI 2016-45), in section 2) Grace for Blessed Children, it reads as follows:

Secular 2nd Gen. married a Submit application form (Attachment 4) Marriage 1st gen outside the church Restored as 1st gen. family after attending the holy wine ceremony, completed the 3-day ceremony and attended the 2017 Foundation Day Blessing Ceremony.

Children born after the 3-day ceremony are 2nd gens. (Children born before are 1st gens.)

This had been corrected by the Int’l BFD Headquarters in Korea to state that the 3-day ceremony should be completed after the Blessing, and we reported that change. However, it was made clear in our International Directors’ meeting in Korea that the original memo was in fact correct. The 3-day ceremony, for people in this category, can be completed at a convenient time after the Special Grace Holy Wine (and bequeathal) Ceremony. There would be no need for a 40-day separation or further 3-day ceremony after the Blessing. This is of course quite unusual, which is probably why it was treated as an error, but in fact it is as originally stated above and demonstrates the extraordinary nature of this Special Grace. We apologise for the confusion.

Please note: this Special Grace is being given to Blessed Children where they are legally married in a non-UC ceremony (either to another member of the Second Generation or to a First Generation marriage partner - as stated in the same memo). It is not extended to those who are simply living together as boyfriend and girlfriend and plan to continue doing so.

Also, may we remind you that the Blessing is most likely to be held in August, not February as originally planned, and I will be recommending that we hold a concurrent blessing ceremony in Europe, as we did last year, for those who cannot travel to Korea for a valid reason.
