The European 7 Day Divine Principle Workshop Sun 7 – Sat 13 December 2014 at Livingstone House, UK

2014-10-01 · Source: tparents.org

Chislehurst, UK.

Built for Victorian explorer and

missionary, David Livingstone, this

beautiful retreat centre has also

served in its time as a convent for

Catholic nuns. Set in beautifully

maintained gardens, it is situated in a

prime location on the South-‐East

edge of London and provides an ideal

location for the Divine Principle

The Workshop

The workshop provides a substantial overview of The Divine Principle in twenty-‐one presentations.

It regularly brings together a wide variety of interesting people.

The programme

Each day will begin with some optional light exercise and a time of devotion drawing on a wide

variety of religious texts and inspirational sources. There will be four presentations a day with time

for questions and answers or group discussion at the end of the morning and afternoon sessions.

There will be time for recreation after lunch each day, and a variety of evening programmes: a film

night, a prayer evening, a testimony evening, and evenings of games and home-‐grown

entertainment. Whether you are new to The Principle, or seeking to refresh yourself with the

Divine Word, come and spend a worthwhile week of study and reflection.

(The seminar is conducted in the English language. Translation may be possible -‐ please enquire well beforehand.)

The Ethos

Many find the Workshop to be a most surprising and valuable form of religious retreat. You can

take time away from the pressures of day-‐to-‐day life and reflect more on the inner life in the

company of others. Participants are encouraged to embrace the schedule and treat each other as

brothers and sisters: ‘One Family Under God’. We like to think of it as a journey we make together,

with each participant adding something significant to the whole experience.

The Divine Principle

Already by age sixteen, Sun Myung Moon had received his commission through encounters with

the risen Christ and was continuing his lonely and prayerful search to find the answers to

fundamental questions about life – profound insights that now form the systematic teaching

known as ‘The Divine Principle’.

By identifying spiritual principles that reveal the workings of God behind human history and

through the world’s great religious traditions, a way is opened up to transcend traditional

boundaries of race, religion and culture and move toward a truly ‘unified’ view of life wherein the

spiritual and physical dimensions are harmonized.

Through this programme of lectures, presentations and other activities you will surely be able to

reflect deeply on God’s Will in relation to your own life, as well as to the wider society and world.
