UK HARP Summer Workshops 2011 (15th - 21st & 22nd - 27th August, Cleeve House)

Dear HARP members and Parents, We are happy to finally announce confirmed dates for 2 exciting summer workshops for HARP members – the workshops will be held back to back in the wonderful surroundings of Cleeve House. In previous years, many HARP members have had a great experience attending both – to encourage this, the combined cost for both is £200 (please see the attached flyer with more information). The UK HARP workshop will end on the same day as the Annual Family Gathering, so will be a convenient time to end altogether.

Each workshop is first come first serve, but both have a limit - so please apply ASAP to help us prepare the necessary staff, and to avoid disappointment. The initial application deadline is August 1st for the 7 Day Divine Principle Workshop, and August 8th for the UK HARP Workshop – after that we will consider applications based on staff and capacity.

1) HARP 7 Day Divine Principle Workshop – 15th – 21st August. This is an extremely important workshop for in everyone’s life of faith. It is always a good time to go – at different stages throughout youth it can really help develop understanding and maturity. Each summer this workshop provides an important opportunity to experience the principle – learning together and going deeper. David Hanna, the European Education director, will be the workshop lecturer – together with a strong staff team of elder brothers and sisters. Please note there is a smaller capacity for this workshop. Fee = £110

2) UK HARP Workshop – “This is My Home – In harmony with God’s Heart” – 22nd – 27th August. This workshop will centre around the motto shared with the European Summer activities. We will work on creating a home, where we can feel strong family bonds, and aim to mature our hearts – to come closer to God. The workshop schedule will centre around relevant content for HARP members, Hoon Dok Hae, testimonies, team activities, challenge day, creative groups and quality time as brothers and sisters in HARP and beyond – as one

extended family. Here are some excerpts from reflections of participants on the most recent workshop, the UK HARP Easter Workshop 2011 – “Pure and Simple”

“The lessons I have learnt over the course of this workshop can make a positive turn in this crazy journey called life”

“I got so many valuable lessons and I think they will help me a lot in the future. It was also a very precious time that I could spend with brothers and sisters that I didn’t know before. Its always nice to meet new second generation! The atmosphere is always much better and purer than for example school … everyone was really kind and I didn’t feel left out or anything”

“I had loads of experiences on this workshop, some up and some down, but they made me stronger inside”

“This experience has been really fun but also challenging. As this has been my first workshop I have had so many really happy times. Even though I found points of this workshop tough, I feel that I have learnt so much and so many things. I can’t put into words how grateful I am for being able to have opportunities to go to workshops and meet amazing and such caring 2nd gen”

Please email us with your workshop applications and queries. Also, if you feel inspired to help out as a team leader/kitchen staff/workshop parents – please be in touch – we need your support!. We look forward to sharing some of the summer holidays together – preparing and supporting each other for the new school year.
