March 2026 In March, the Month of Partnerships in our 100 Days of Serving Community campaign, UPF chapters worked with other NGOs and groups on a wide range of activities. Women’s empowerment was a major theme, in concert with International Women’s Day on March 8. In April we advance to the Month of Service, as explained below. For more information, visit www,upf,org.
April as the Month of Service In many societies, spring is the season when homes, streets, schools and common spaces are cleaned, repaired and renewed. Thus, in many regions, April is marked by civic campaigns that connect volunteerism with spring renewal. UPF invites its partners, ambassadors for peace, and people of goodwill to join in practical acts of service for the benefit of society.
Latin American Webinar: Women Leaders Build Healthy Societies
South and Central America – A panel of leaders from South and Central America and the Caribbean region met in a webinar on March 16, 2026, to discuss the theme: “Women, Leadership, and Management: Building Strong Families and Healthy Societies.” The event was organized and sponsored by UPF and several of its affiliated associations.
Global Webinar Highlights Women’s Role in Peacebuilding IAFLP – In observance of Women’s History Month, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) and the International Association of First Ladies for Peace (IAFLP) convened a global webinar on March 2, 2026, entitled “No Peace Without Women.” The program highlighted the critical role of women in peace processes, conflict prevention, and human security. Around 140 women from 22 countries joined the event.
Volunteers Bring Joy & Support to Remote Sri Lankan School Rathnapura District, Sri Lanka – The Vevegananda School in Nopareil, Baladgod, perched high on a wooded mountainside, is known as the most beautiful, and one of the most remote, schools in Sri Lanka. UPF-Sri Lanka and the Religious Youth Service (RYS) chose this isolated location to carry out a youth leadership service project under the theme “Empowering Minds, Enriching Futures.”
Artists Explain Healing and Unifying Power of Art and Music IAACP, United States – The International Association of Arts and Culture for Peace (IAACP) held a webinar on March 26, 2026, featuring four panelists presenting on the power of art and music to create peace and foster healing. Four panelists were musicians and composers; the fifth an experienced educator who has used participatory art projects to strengthen communities.
Eco-Activities Teach Russian Students About Recycling
Voronezh, Russia – In preparation for the upcoming Earth Day, a series of environmental education activities were held in Voronezh and across the Voronezh Region. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about ecological responsibility and inspire young people to take care of the environment in their daily lives. Students participated in engaging and educational activities focused on waste sorting and recycling.
