November 2025 Recent UPF articles and events have focused on good governance – specifically, how values inform policy decisions and implementation – as well as issues related to media and technology. A few are listed below, with additional UPF activities at www.upf.org.

Reflection on Outcomes of the 2025 G20 Johannesburg Summit The 2025 G20 Summit in Johannesburg, produced several concrete results, including strengthened representation of Africa in global governance, steps toward reforming the international financial architecture to expand long-term development financing, agreements on climate adaptation and resilience funding, measures to support food security and safeguard supply chains, as well as initiatives encouraging investment in infrastructure, industrial growth and equitable energy transitions.

European Scholars in Germany Discuss Shared Values

Meersburg, Germany – More than fifty participants from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein met in the small but internationally known town of Meersburg, on Lake Constance in Germany, for a discussion on the theme, “The World at a Turning Point – What Values Will Secure Our Future?” The conference took place from November 1-2, 2025. The chairman of UPF-Germany, Mr. Karl-Christian Hausmann, gave a talk on “A New World Order and the Future Role of the United Nations.” Other scholars addressed issues related to democratic, cultural, ethical and religious values.

UPF Addresses Islamabad Parliamentary Conference Islamabad, Pakistan – A UPF delegation participated in the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC) in Islamabad from November 11-12, 2025. Convened by the Senate of Pakistan and the ISC Secretariat, the event focused on the theme, “Peace, Security and Development.” Delegations from over forty national parliaments attended, represented by

speakers, presidents, deputy speakers and senior legislators. Dr. Tageldin Hamad, president of UPF-International, took part in the general debate. He explained that UPF is guided by ideals that affirm humanity as one family and emphasize service to others as a basis for social stability.

Kenyan University Lectures Tie Peace to Good Governance Nairobi, Kenya – On November 5, 2025, UPF-Kenya inaugurated a university lecture series on the Principles of Peace at Tangaza University in Nairobi. The event marked a pioneering step in merging UPF’s vision of peace with academic excellence, drawing the participation of 33 students, including four PhD candidates and 26 Master’s students from the Governance Department. The lecture series represented both an academic initiative and a strategic outreach program – a platform to introduce UPF’s peace principles within academic institutions while enriching governance studies with ethical and moral dimensions.

IMAP Webinar: Experts Stress Need for Media Ethics IMAP, United States – Two media experts addressed the need for ethical journalism and called for alliances to promote this goal in a webinar on October 28, 2025. The program, “Journalism, Free Speech and Media Bias in a Rapidly Changing World,” was organized by the International Media Association for Peace (IMAP), an affiliate of UPF-USA.

UK Experts Discuss Building Trust in Digital Technologies London, United Kingdom – How can artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and cyber security contribute to a more trustworthy and human-centered digital economy? This question was addressed at a thought-provoking program convened by the International Association for Peace and Economic Development (IAED-UK), an initiative of UPF-UK, on October 22, 2025 in London.
