Donate to Support Divine Principle Workshops in Haiti

Rose Gbadamassi (pictured) is a new member of the Minneapolis Family Church and a Haitian community leader in Minnesota. From the time she learned the Divine Principle and joined the Unification movement, she has had a burning desire to share True Parents’ teachings with her friends in Haiti, and has been asking her community to support a Divine Principle workshop in Cap-Haitian, her hometown.

As a relatively small Unification community in the USA, it wouldn’t be easy to afford sending a member and sponsoring a workshop in another country. However, True Mother’s letter to Hyo-Jin Moon from the Cham Bumo Gyeong (page 628) inspired and reminded the Minneapolis Unificationist community of the responsibility of the elder son.

Please love Heung-jin [your younger brother] a lot. Since you are the older brother, you represent Appa [father]. If there is some good food, let Heung-jin have some first, and if there is anything good, think of your younger brothers and sisters first. There is no one else in the world who is like each of you to one another… “Appa, Omma, please love Heung-jin more than you do me.” You should be able to say this, right? You will become the best older brother, won’t you?

After multiple meetings and much discussion, the Minneapolis Family Church council agreed to budget $700 to support the workshop and started planning the details with Rev. Paul, the movement in Haiti’s national leader. It wasn’t easy to communicate with the Haitian Unificationist community due to the frequent power outages, and despite searching for some time, the council couldn’t find a flight ticket within their limited budget.

District 8 Pastor, Rev. Hyungtae Ha, was able to secure a great deal on a plane ticket at the last minute, so that Rose could attend and support a two- day Divine Principle workshop to be held at Cap-Haitian July 19 and 20. They are expecting about 300 attendees for the workshop, and Rev. Paul has lined up several leaders to support and teach Divine Principle.

The Minneapolis Family Church is grateful for this blessing, but is now facing the challenge to care for the large number of guests waiting to study Divine Principle.

With the heart of an elder son loving his younger sibling, the Minneapolis Family Church is seeking your help to sponsor the biggest Divine Principle workshop they have ever supported.

“With the workshop being held in Haiti, our sibling country in need of support, we sincerely ask our dear USA brothers and sisters to contribute,” said Rev. Ha.

Please join today in sponsoring this workshop in whatever way you can. Online donations are possible by going to familyfed.org/support and clicking on DP Workshops.
