Wales Peace Road Event Saturday, October 15 at 10:30 am

Last year Wale’s Peace Road Event went off very successfully as we walked around Cardiff’s famous Roath Park Lake – well famous in Cardiff at least. The lake has a beautiful lighthouse with a scale model of the ship Scott sailed on as he and his companions voyaged on their fateful journey to the Antarctic where, sadly, they all perished.

Fortunately, we Peace Road walkers fared much better as we completed our walk around the lake and onto the rose gardens beyond on a beautiful sunny day when boaters were out rowing their way around the lake perhaps imagining they were rowers heading for New York crossing the Atlantic… and where we could eventually, stop for well-earned ice cream to finish up.

This year, and hopefully for many years to come, we shall be continuing the Peace Road but this time, we shall be circumnavigating – a big word but really just to say we are going to walk and cycle around – Cardiff’s famous castle and this one is famous… for those who know Cardiff. This will then be followed by an exciting youth event in the large park behind the castle. What a wonderful setting for our event this year and for the youth to hold their monthly activity following the Peace Road event. Well, there is plenty of space if others feel inclined to join us so why not make it a day out and come and join us for Wales’ Peace Road Event 2016. See you there!
