Clifton, NJ Family Church: Seonghwa Information for Mr. Richard Francis — Randy Francis

As you may have heard, we will be holding a Seonghwa Ceremony for our brother, Mr. Richard John Francis who has peacefully ascended on Wednesday August 23rd. Please see the information below regarding the Vieiwing and Seonghwa, as well as the Chain Prayer and the GoFundMe to help support our family.

We hope that you are able to contribute to this fundraiser, of which all proceeds will go to cover the cost of funeral and hospital expenses. Due to Mr. Francis’s long stay in the hospital and rehabilitation, we anticipate that the medical bills will be significant. Richard John Francis was born at St. Michael Barbados on October 24 , 1954. He was one of the original fou nding members of the Family Federation for World Peace in Barb ados. He spent many years serving, teac hing and leading our Barbados Church. He also worked in the saf ety and development of the New Yorker Hotel, a landmar k bu ilding in N ew York City. He was Blessed in marriage to Evelyn in 1995 and t oget her they raised two beautiful children J azzera and Ethan ..

He Worked with British Telecommunication Company: Cable and W ireless, Became certified as a Salvage Diver and worked w ith a Caribbean salvage company as a scuba diver. Became ce rtified as a ranked Ka rate instruct or, and start ed t he first Tae Kwon Do school in Barbados. Inspired many young people to get involved in Tae wa Do as a sport and discipline. Was a certified fitness instructor and personal trainer for a major hotel group and a healt h and fitness business. Loved t he beach, and spent lots of t ime engaging in swimming, diving and snorkeling.

On Sept ember of 2021, he was in and out of t he ICU for a couple of months. Then lat er moved to a rehabi litation center to aid in his recovery. He event ually was st abilized and was lat er moved b ack home t o aid in his recovery at t he end of June. Last J uly, he had successful heart surgery. However, on Wednesday, August 23rd his heart stopped suddenly. M r. Francis leaves behind his w ife Evelyn , and c hildren Jazzera, and Ethan. Brothers David, Dave, Pearson, and Marlon. Sist ers Sharon and Ramona. He departed from this eart hly lif e, leaving behind a legacy of absolute fa ith, absolute love, and devotion to God, our Heavenly Parent.
