CARP USA: CARP Boston Initiates Service in Their Local Community — Jinil Fleischman

On June 12th, CARP Boston held a service project at the Family Federation community of Boston. After asking one of the caretakers of the community about what things needed to be done, seven participants moved items off the roof into the basement. Following that, groups were formed in order to continue beautifying the front entrance of the building, cleaning the back staircase, and vacuuming.

The intention of the service project was to engage the local community as well as invest in the physical space which we use for activities. One participant remarked how “our building is next to the largest commons in Boston,” indicating how critical investment is. We hope to use this space for events such as CARP Talk in the Fall semester.
