Peace Starts With Me “When we are young, we stand at a crossroads. We have to decide whether to take the road that satisfies selfish desires or the road toward a great dream. As we begin the stage of life following childhood, we should be beautiful young men and women ready to launch ourselves into the world with the courage that comes from having great dreams” - Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, Mother of Peace What do principled young leaders bring to the table? What can they add to the world? Young people are not just passionate; they’re the driving force behind history. In Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon’s recently published memoir, Mother of Peace, she says that youth who commit themselves to dreams and principles are leaders of the world.
In that vein, this summer, CARP is called to be a part of Peace Starts with Me, under the theme Reconciliation for All People. Peace Starts with Me will host a virtual rally for peace and reconciliation and then hit the road with Peace Road, a travelling van of peacemakers visiting major landmarks in the U.S. to promote reconciliation and peace through the life of Mother Moon as shared in her memoir.
CARP students, too, are being reinvigorated by Mother Moon’s book by seeing the way she promotes peace around the world.
“Creating a substantial world of peace that continues for generations upon generations to come…is what inspires me and moves me so much about Father and Mother Moon. They are not just talking about creating peace as a concept but as a reality and are actively participating in and investing in as many projects as they can to bring it about.” - Younng-Joo Scharf (Read her full reflection here.)
Stay tuned as CARP follows Father and Mother Moon’s example this summer with the Peace Starts With Me movement!
