The first African Summit was held in Dakar, Senegal in January 2018. After the unprecedented victory of being received on the level of a head of state, True Mother proclaimed that the headquarters of all providential organizations in Africa should be rooted in Senegal.

Senegalese Unificationists were overwhelmed and overjoyed by the proclamation. “It was like a huge miraculous heavenly explosion,” said Justin and Patricia Fleischman, American missionaries to Senegal from 1975 to 1992, who attended the events.

Senegalese Unificationists have few financial resources. “Many of them support church activities as well as their own families by selling roasted peanuts, Baobab fruit (from a native tree) and other locally- available products in kiosks along the streets,” the Fleischmans explained. Still, community members are determined to work even harder to fulfill their new mission.

Due to the fact that none of the Senegalese members owns a vehicle, they must use public transportation to get around. For most members it takes around two hours to get to the church for Sunday Service. The national leader, Abdou Gaye, has expressed the community’s urgent need for a van to transport the members. With this goal, the Fleischmans have set up a GoFundMe page and are campaigning to raise the funds to purchase a van and a car for the national leader to respond to the daily needs of his community.

The purpose of this fundraising effort is to raise $55,000 to purchase a 15 passenger van for the center and a car for the national leader. As well as filling the practical needs, these vehicles are also essential for our movement to be viewed as a substantial and credible organization. The fundraiser page has already raised $3,000 toward its $55,000 goal. You can support the cause by donating any amount here.
