We hope this letter finds you well. We’re all excited to welcome True Mother in Las Vegas and attend the Unity Festival in less than a week. There is still time to register and make your arrangements to join the Unity Festival on June 22 at the MGM Grand.
We write to give you all some updates on changes in district and local leadership throughout the nation. We would like to send such updates periodically.
Changes in Subregion 1
Rev. Mika Deshotel, Co-pastor of the Bridgeport Family Church has been appointed as District Pastor of District 4. Outgoing District Pastor, Rev. Kris Hempowicz is actively involved in the transition, offering support and mentorship to Pastor Mika.
Pastor Tanya Edwards has stepped down from her position as Senior Pastor of the Manhattan Family Church, and has taken a new role as the ACLC Administrative Director.
Changes in Subregion 2
Rev. Young Tack Yang has stepped down from his position as District Pastor of District 12 in Southern California, and has been appointed as District Pastor of District 5, based in Atlanta, GA and responsible for the Southeast states.
Also in Atlanta, GA, Rev. Haruki Kimura is stepping down from his position as Pastor of the Atlanta Family Church and has taken the position of overseeing General Affairs of the Atlanta church.
Rev. Levy Daugherty will serve the Atlanta community as Interim Senior Pastor.
Changes in Subregion 3
Rev. Charles Jinchurl You has been appointed as Pastor of KEA Chicago. He has held the position previously and is now committed to rebuild and renew the Korean Evangelism Ministry in Chicago.
Changes in Subregion 5
Rev. Mark Tengan is appointed as Senior Pastor of Los Angeles Family Church, and as acting District Pastor of District 12 in Southern California.
In Northern California, Rev. Youjin Moon has accepted the position of Pastor of KEA San Francisco. He is newly arrived from Korea after a long experience as CARP leader in several regions in Korea.
In Seattle, Rev. Jinwook Lee has accepted the role of Pastor of the Seattle-Tacoma KEA ministry. She has experience with CARP and other youth activities in Korea and is excited to develop KEA Seattle further.
We wish everyone success in their new roles and future endeavors. Let’s all support these new leaders that are taking on a great responsibility in this time in the providence. Let’s continue to pray together and work together for the sake of Heavenly Parent and True Parents.
