Appreciating Tanya Edwards, Pastor of the Family Church Of New York City

I feel the prayer and love through Pastor Tanya’s words every time.

Once, at a council meeting, Pastor Tanya explained her plan of one particular event, and one council member totally disagreed. At that time Pastor Tanya’s attitude was still calm and thoughtful. She gently asked that council member, “What is the best way? What do you want?” After the council member expressed his concern, he ended up in agreement to Pastor Tanya’s plan. I was amazed by our Pastor’s big embracing heart.

We had a blessing ceremony in our church and many young couples and their families came to stay in our church facility. The assigned cook suddenly became sick. Bishop Edwards, Pastor Tanya and her sister cooked for those newly blessed couples, their families and the staff — over 100 people — for more than a few days. When we, as the local congregation saw this, we appreciated it deeply and felt the Pastor’s parental heart.

Pastor Tanya and Bishop Edwards have special meetings with members one Sunday every month called family meetings. Those members who attended the meeting, surely feel God’s love and became connected to the church more than before.

I cannot share my appreciation enough.
