Presenter - James B. Edgerly “Old Light & New Light in the Midst of Cultural Confusion “ Respondent: Dr. Michael Mickler

Over the past four years, with help from Rev. Zagery Oliver, the Higher Purpose Forum has developed a presentation series titled “The American Story - What’s the Hold Up?” The eight-part series details a providential understanding of U.S. history and presents a diagnosis of our current circumstance. Extracted from that larger story, Saturday’s “Old Light, New Light” presentation will review the role of breakthrough spiritual leadership during times of cultural confusion.

Repeatedly, heavily persecuted “new lights” have contended with “old lights”, confronted moral confusion, and offered a transformative vision of the future. Only after such spiritual renewal can providentially aligned cultural awakening and healthy political reform take place.

Certainly, this ingredient of “new light” of is of critical relevance today.

Our Respondent will be Dr. Michael Mickler, Distingished Professor of Historical Studies at the HJ International Graduate School of Peace and Public Leadership
