Unbroken, nationwide prayer chain built by Japanese brothers and sisters

Since April 1, 2017, a dedicated handful of our Japanese brothers and sisters around the country have been gathering together to pray continuously for God’s Providence, the Unification movement, True Parents, and the American Unification family. Our 12 regional districts have been divided into seven groups, with the prayer team of each group praying for at least two hours, one day a week–making for an unbroken, nationwide prayer chain.
As our brothers and sisters immerse themselves deeply in the experience of prayer, they have begun to gain new insights about themselves and our national as well as worldwide movement. Kumiko Sutker, Kodan leader of District 7, shared this week, “I feel that we will be able to bring our members’ spirits together through these prayer meetings. Also, I can now feel that I am able to correct my life of faith and spirit and better align with Divine Principle, Heavenly Parent, and True Parents. In the beginning, I thought meeting every week to pray would be a difficult challenge, but now I feel no problem. I feel good, as if I was always supposed to pray every night so Heavenly Parent and True Parents could work through me.”
For Tomoko Thick of San Francisco, too, even as the prayer meetings have awoken a sense of genuine repentance in her heart for various challenges and failures she has witnessed in life, they have also kindled a sense of hope and new opportunities for outreach. Mrs. Thick shared, “I felt so repentant, with tears, but recently when I went witnessing on a local campus or around different neighborhoods, I met good people. I met one young student on campus and now we are studying together by reading the Divine Principle. Although I don’t have much time to go out witnessing, I feel confident now that God will prepare good people–that through this prayer condition we will meet people who are seeking a new truth.”
