Cham Bumo Gyeong. Book 12. The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification and the Women’s Era.  Chapter 1. Background. True Parents proclaimed ‘The Family Pledge’ on May 1st 1994, at the celebration of the 40th anniversary of HSA-UWC. Later, on October 9th, they announced the establishment of the Family Federation for World Peace. Its inaugural ceremony took place on July 30th 1996, in Washington DC. On April 10th 1997, True Parents directed that the official name be changed from Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity to Family Federation for World Peace and Unification. This was to clarify that the original, ideal world as envisioned at the creation comes not through religion but, rather, through ideal families.

Cham Bumo Gyeong. Book 12. The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification and the Women’s Era.  Chapter 1. 1. [April 16th 1997].  Father’s words ….

 The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification was established to gather the mothers, the sons and the daughters, who had fallen short in Adam’s family, and lead them to the Blessing. From the family age of the Blessing we move now to the tribal age. The age of HSA-UWC was for the sake of finding Adam’s family. Now we are in the course of uniting Adam’s family and building the tribal-level foundation. After interconnecting the tribes, we can build a national- level and, finally, a world-level foundation. We are now in this time of great change, so the Unification Church is transforming into the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification.

Cham Bumo Gyeong. Book 12. The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification and the Women’s Era.  Introduction.  During the 31st True Parents’ Day ceremony, held on March 27, 1990, True Father declared the “liberation of all women” and announced True Mother as the second founder of the unification movement.  On April 10, 1992, True Parents proclaimed the “Advent of the Global Era of Women” as they held the inauguration ceremony of the Women’s Federation for World Peace.

Home Church, Home Town, Tribal Messiahship - some thoughts.

 Our personal journey has focused on :  Consistent WFWP activities with women, especially the Women’s Peace Meeting, from 1993 to 2016. Women are often the avenue into families …  UPF activities, Ambassadors for Peace etc, especially between 2000 and 2012 : MEPI’s, ELC’s, Speech events, UK Parliament..  FFWPU activities : Family Evenings to share the Principle, and holding regular Blessings, especially between 2010 and 2016.

Ambassadors for Peace who give tremendous credibility to our work, as here at the Blessing in 2010.

Two recent Family Evenings in our home.

FFWPU, Family Evenings, and sharing the Principle.  Since focusing on sharing the Principle / Principles of Peace, guests have come mainly through street witnessing and the Women’s Peace Meeting.  We make a clear distinction, both in our minds and in the minds of our guests, that the Family Evening is an FFWPU activity.  However (!), the experience of the Women’s Peace Meeting and knowledge of WFWP and UPF activities builds trust, and gives tremendous confidence to people when studying the Principle, and in seeing that we ‘practice what we preach’.

Interfaith Peace Blessing on February 27th 2016.

The Blessing as an Interfaith Peace event.

The Blessing as an Interfaith Peace event.  Held under the banner of FFWPU, an Interfaith Blessing may seem problematic.  The blessing preparation slide presentation, ‘The World Peace Blessing’, can be adapted for people of all faiths, eg using quotes from different faith traditions.  People know that Father and Mother Moon are the origin of the Blessing, as True Parents, but that they can keep their own religious identity, as a Muslim, as a Hindu, etc, and are not expected to become FFWPU members.  In this way, UPF and WFWP can be vehicles for people to come to the Blessing, which is sponsored by FFWPU.
