A Report - What I've Been Doing for the Last 19 Years
2018-10-25 · Source: tparents.org
As of this year I have been living in South Korea for nineteen years. During that time I have continually endeavored to do what God has called me to do in the place he has called me to be. Recently someone asked me if I want to do Heavenly Tribal Messiah as True Mother has asked us to do.
This is my answer. Fist of all, what is a messiah? There may be many opinions but this is mine.
The messiah is the person who, with eyes wide open, voluntarily enters the world of chaos and attempts to bring order out of the chaos by articulating the word, that is the truth as he understands it.
Is Sun Myung Moon the messiah? That depends on what you say the messiah is. Michael Jordan was a great athlete, probably still is. When he played the game it was a thing of beauty. He made it look almost effortless. He played ‘in the zone.’ He and many other athletes, artists, musicians, and mystics are able to enter into this state of enhanced performance and perception. To be engaged in something that has the greatest meaning possible is to be ‘in the zone.’ It may be that they first pay attention and then narrow their focus down and concentrate on the one thing. The right hemisphere and left hemisphere of the brain are completely integrated. Performance is optimized. Time flies; it disappears.
This is as close as we come to fully embodying the ideal, the logos. The logos, the word; the articulated truth, is the transforming agent that brought order out of chaos at the beginning of being and has the power to transform individuals, families, nations, and the world. This is the Christ, the messiah.
Using this understanding I’d say Sun Myung Moon was the messiah. More than anything else that he did, was his articulation of the truth as he came to understand it by standing up and speaking for hours and hours. More than anyone else I’ve ever heard of, he continued to do this all his life. It is debatable if he was always right but he always spoke out for the highest goodness. In the course of his life doing this he transformed uncountable people, including me.
To me this is the messiah and a tribal messiah is one who likewise, to the best of his abilities, does the same transforming work in the sphere of his or her own influence. Everyday, through my teaching, speaking, writing, and other activities, I am trying to be an agent of transformation. I believe this is the true teaching of Sun Myung Moon on tribal messiah.
The following is a brief report of my activities in Korea.
I have been teaching English to Korean students for many years. I’ve taught kindergarten, elementary
school, middle school, high school, university, and adult students. I’ve taught at city hall, elementary schools, dong offices, community education centers, coffee shops, and student’s homes. I currently teach at the Sim-san Cultural Center in Gu Banpo and the Continuing Education Center in Hanam City.
Although the medium is English language education, I never think of myself as a just an English teacher. I always pour out my whole mind and heart into each student and class in order to lift them up, give them confidence, and transform them. If they learn to speak English in the process, all the better.
Nowadays, in addition to basic students, I speak to advanced learners for more than six hours a week. I speak to them on such topics as ‘Why do people believe in religion?, ‘How do you want to spend the rest of your life?, ‘What motivates you to act?, and ‘The future of Korea.’ According to some of their recent comments, when they leave my class they usually feel uplifted and more alive.

North Korean Refugees:
As a volunteer and representative of TNKR (Teach North Korean Refugees) I teach English to North Korean refugees one on one. In addition I coach refugees in public speaking so they can tell their stories in English. TNKR holds English speaking contests twice a year to give them a forum to speak out. Many of the participants have gone on to write books, speak to educational and civic groups, and appear prominently on social media telling their stories.
I also often support TNKR’s other projects like the Book Forum and VIP Events that invite refugee authors and prominent North Korean defectors to speak. I also write reports detailing what they have to say and then share them on social media sites. Here is a partial list of my reports.

Religious Freedom and Human Rights
The Church of Almighty God is a religious group under severe persecution from the Communist Party of China for their religious beliefs. They are on the same list of dangerous cults as the Unification Church in China. Many of their members have fled to South Korea and are seeking asylum. I am supporting them by doing English voice overs for their videos that tell about their unjust arrests and imprisonment in China. I also write about their efforts to gain asylum status in South Korea.
