Serving on our Local Church Council is both a privilege and a responsibility—and now is the time to consider stepping forward!
Elections will take place soon, and we are inviting members to run for Council. Serving is a wonderful way to help guide the future of our church, strengthen our community, and work alongside fellow members and leaders.
Why Run? Help steward the spiritual and practical health of our congregation.
Collaborate with fellow members and church leadership. Be a voice for your community. Strengthen our church through your time, insight, and leadership
Who qualifies to run for the FCCT council?
• CT Family Church member (or lived in the area) for at least 1 year • Registered Family Church member in the U.S. for at least 2 years • Intend to remain in CT for the 2-year term • Not be a paid employee or consultant of the Local Church
How to declare your candidacy:
1. Attend a virtual 30-minute candidate briefing/ Q&A on Sunday, September 7th (30mins)
2. Submit your candidacy by Thursday, 11th September (email the Pastor or Chair of the Elections Board)
3. Complete the FCCT Council Election Candidate Form (Attached)

The Church Council conducts its activity in monthly meetings. Would you be available to attend these meetings for a two-year term? □ Yes □ No ■ The Primary responsibility of a Church Council member at meetings is to enable God’s and True Parents’ vision for the church community to become manifested through mutual give and take of all participants. This happens by engaging in discussion, patiently listening to others □ Yes □ No ■ and articulating one’s own viewpoint on issues related to governance of the Church community. If elected to the Church Council, it is expected that you would sign and uphold the following Council Oath:
I, , as an elected member of the Local Council of the Connecticut Chapter of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, pledge to uphold the faith of Unificationism and the example of its Founders Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon and work in my role as a Council Member to support our pastor, Church leadership and the spiritual and physical well-being of our community of faith in its activities and the accomplishment of the Tribal Messiah mission. I will uphold the National Charter and recognize it as the reference point for the Council’s role in local Church governance.
