I hope this email finds you well. As we continue our journey of faith, I want to take a moment to reflect on the importance of developing a positive spiritual presence in our daily lives. So often, we encounter unseen burdens—negative influences that weigh on our hearts and minds. These can manifest as doubts, anxieties, or patterns that pull us away from living in harmony with God’s love. However, we are not powerless. Through sincere prayer, acts of devotion, and spiritual liberation, we can remove these lingering forces and invite a sense of peace into our lives. Just as we cleanse our homes to create a welcoming space, we must also purify our spiritual environment. By practicing gratitude, strengthening our faith, and actively seeking to liberate ourselves from negativity, we create an atmosphere where goodness thrives. This is how we build not just a peaceful heart, but a world where God’s presence is truly felt.
In faith and gratitude,
Pastor Simone

Special Grace
We are in a Period of Special Grace going from February 2 to April 12. This is a time
when we can prepare our hearts to receive forgiveness from True Parents for past
mistakes, forgive others and make a new determination for a life centered on the
heavenly tradition. This is an opportunity to leave the past behind and join True
Mother in making a new beginning.
How to prepare for Special Grace?
The following devotional conditions before attending by each participant are
1. At least one week (7 days) of intentional devotion as determined by each family,
including Hoondokhae, reflection, prayer, bowing. Please take this time to have
intentional heart to heart conversations as a family and honestly address anything
that needs to be addressed.
2. Participation at least one time in a Cheon Shim Won Night Prayer Vigil (in person
or online) during the one-week devotion period.
3. Study of Rev. Dunkley’s Discourse on True Mother’s Revelations series during the
one-week devotion period and beyond (access the course here). You can either join
the Northeast 7-day devotion or study at your own time with your family.
4. Registration and completion of a financial donation of gratitude based on the
number 13 from each participating family or member. Use this form to make the
donation. You can complete this on the registration form preferably or you can
write a check to HSA-UWC.
5. Completion of a Statement of Resolve to Start Anew document to be presented
during the Holy Wine Ceremony (download here).
Please be aware that in order to participate in the holy wine ceremony, the 7-day
devotion, CSW prayer vigil, donation and registration, and statement of resolve, are
to be completed.
The Special Grace will be bestowed through True Mother’s prayer during the Cosmic
Blessing Ceremony on April 12, 2025. Please plan on joining through the live
broadcast if you don’t plan on being in Korea at that time.
The subregional holy wine dates are February 16th, March 9th, and March
30th. Check with your local pastor to confirm.
Please don’t struggle alone, reach out to your local pastor or the northeast team if
you have any questions or concerns. I truly hope that everyone will take this
opportunity to make a new beginning.

Housing Opportunity at Bridgeport International Academy!
BIA is a small, private high school in Bridgeport, CT. Founded by Rev Moon in the 90s, the school now serves about 100 students from all around the world. While the majority of students are not affiliated with the church, the staff is all second gen with varying levels of church involvement. Our community is unique as the school provides faculty housing onsite creating a sort of “mini village” atmosphere.
BIA also has a Residential Life program that serves about 40 international students. In the dorms this year, we have students from Vietnam, China, Congo, Ethiopia, Armenia, and Albania as well as some students from other states. For staffing, the dorm offers free housing opportunities in exchange for light responsibilities. Currently, BIA is looking to fill some dorm positions for the 2025 - 2026 school year. There are two types of roles that need filling:
Dorm Parents: Looking for an older couple to act as Dorm Supervisors and add an adult presence to the dorm. Responsibilities include (but aren’t limited to) overseeing cleanliness in the dorm (with the help of other dorm staff) and general supervision. This is ideal for an older couple, maybe retired, looking for housing options that don’t break the bank. There is no overhead cost to living in the dorm and the schedule is flexible enough to accommodate work hours as well. The room available would be on the dorm floor in our Staff Suite. It is big with a good sized closet. Shared kitchen and bathroom with other staff members but students do not have access.
Dorm Staff: Looking to fill a couple of dorm staff positions. Dorm staff is typically early twenty year olds who are either in school at University of Bridgeport or CT State Housatonic or someone taking a gap year that would like to save money. Again, there is no overhead cost in living in the dorms. There would be some dorm responsibilities but dorm staff are fairly independent. Schedules can be flexible and can work around school or work. It is a great opportunity to live independently with a financial safety net. It is a full year commitment however we have had dorm staff stay with us for years or even through the entirety of their college experience. Dorm staff accommodations are in the Staff Suite (shared with dorm parents) and in the common room of the dorm.
Additional Noteworthy Points:
• Both the University of Bridgeport and Housatonic have the ability to issue I-20s, meaning international students can attend. BIA has been a good housing option for international college students looking to study in the US. • The local church (Family Church of CT) meets in our building so if church connection is important there are many ways to plug in conveniently. • The school is about a 10 min walk from the train station to Grand Central in NYC.
If this situation seems interesting for you or a family member and you would like to discuss, please email me (Emily Kise, principal) at ekise@ bridgeportacademy, org
