Haunting Houses, Liberating Spirits from places and people...

The first pioneering city for our movement to have a Filipino leader from it’s beginning was Bacolod. I sent an advance team to search for an empty house to rent and after a week of searching they found only one that was vacant in a reasonable location for mission. After leaving Nanette in Cubao, to run the Manila headquarters center, I arrived in Bacolod with a large group of recently joined members and the most positive older members. The first night I found out why no one was renting that house, it was “haunted”. This caused us to begin our mission in Bacolod with a great spirit cleansing condition that I had learned from Mrs. Barbara Burrows [van Praag], a missionary to Guinea.

After thoroughly physically cleaning the house, all members together simultaneously read the Divine Principle out loud, sometimes shouting for 40 minutes for 40 days, in every room, front and back yard to “educate” or chase away the annoying spirits. This same cleansing condition we had used in the Cubao center to chase out a female spirit ancestor who was seen floating around with a knife sticking from her chest by more than 10 members at different times over a year. I later researched the history

of our Manila home from neighbors and found out a lady had been stabbed to death in the house. This condition worked well and we would used it repeatedly in the future across the Philippines.
