UTS Alumni Weekend: Memorial Service on Sunday May 27th

2012-06-01 · Source: tparents.org

At 6:30 AM on Sunday about 30 alumni and friends gathered in the Barrytown chapel to remember and celebrate the lives of the UTS administrators, faculty, staff and graduates who have ascended (passed) into the next life.

Many of those gathered had just returned from the early morning walk on Father’s Trail. The walk was in memory of President David S.C. Kim who used to lead the walk every Sunday. The names of those who had ascended were read aloud, and it was fitting that David S.C. Kim and his wife, Eui Hong Kang, were the first to be remembered.

There were many, many wonderful memories, stories and testimonies shared. The Memorial Service is a highlight of each Alumni Weekend, and every person gathered in the chapel honored and cherished the memory of those departed.

If you know of someone who has ascended but is not on this list, please forward their name to us.

The UTS Alumni Association received news that contrary to rumor, our beloved alumnus Lewis Rayapen has not passed away as announced at the Memorial Service at Alumni Weekend, Barrytown. He is very much alive and well:

“I am now in my home island of Mauritius, retired after teaching in London in Higher and further education. Have a nice house with swimming pool a fairly big garden where I spend a lot of time pretending to be a gardener. Also have a wife and 3 dogs.”

“Please take good care and send my fond regards and my heartfelt love to brothers and sisters who remember me.”
