The first ceremony for the “Declaration Day of God’s Eternal Blessing” was held at 7 am on July 1, 1991 at the Hannamdong Official Residence in Korea. Some 2,000 people were there that day including leaders of providential organizations, regional directors, representatives of blessed families, and representatives from the churches in Japan and the U.S.

On that day, True Parents declared that, from that time on, July 1st would be celebrated as a Holy Day and designated it as the 7.1 Jeol. On the occasion of this day, True Parents instructed all blessed families to submit their application for becoming a tribal messiah and to work on activities for tribal restoration.

In his prayer that day, True Father expressed the internal circumstances and lasting regrets within God’s providence for restoring humankind which began with the false parents, and in particularly, the deep sorrow God had towards the providence centering on Jesus.

True Father declared that as of June 30, 1991, the suffering that came from all the historical struggles centering on the True Parents had been resolved, and that on July 1st, the foundation had been laid to unite the free world and communist world, and all the spheres of religion and politics centering on God the creator and the horizontal True Parents, and to restore the eldersonship, rights of parents and kingship. Furthermore, he declared that the position was established to restore the original nature and heart of humankind, to liberate all the realms of Cain, to unify all things and to restore the authority of the clan.

Father held the ceremony of the Declaration of God’s Eternal Blessing at Hannam-dong on July 1, 1991, and said that the day would be celebrated as Chil-Il Jeol (July 1st Day). Father said that, as of that day, all the providential preparations for God to settle were completed, and that it was the time of watershed when entering a world of peace had been made possible. It was also the day when the blessed families began their tribal messiahship.

[Prayer] “Knowing that, from July 1, the world-level era has come when we have to exert our utmost effort in managing our family and tribe, I marked the first day of July as the day to declare tribal messiahship to the world. So please help all those who have applied for this not to waver this way and that, but rather, following all relationships with heaven, accomplish, from the family level, the restoration of elder son-ship, parent-ship and king-ship that Adam and Eve lost. I sincerely pray that You will help us not to forget the mission of the blessed families, and to establish a victorious realm of dominion that no one can take away.

Reflecting on God’s overall will throughout providential history that a nation and a family cannot be linked without the tribal messiah mission, I have already declared tribal messiah, and, furthermore, have declared that the day has come when each individual can declare his own tribal messiahship to the world. Thank for allowing us this day when we can declare True Parent’s tribe, representing blessed couples and their ensuing generations who were established to be in the heavenly realm by following True Parent’s true love and separating from the stained blood lineage.”

The Day of God’s Eternal Blessing centers upon the proclamation of the “Royal Family,” that is, the family which substantiates True Love between husband and wife, parents and children, and brothers and sisters. With God as the eternal King, blessed families are members of the Royal Family, in the position of princes and princesses. Thus, in Rev. Moon’s words, “We no longer belong to any nationality—Irish, German, American, Japanese ore Korean, nor denomination— Christianity, Catholicism, Judaism.” Through love within the family, the barriers obstructing world peace are broken.

The Day of God’s Eternal Blessing also celebrates the foundation of Tribal Messiahship, the foundation for blessed families to represent and manifest this degree of love to their physical families and hometowns. There are no spiritual barriers preventing the society from receiving this new level of love and the accompanying sensibility of the rightness of religious and racial unity and an international family of nations. The only barrier remaining, and it is an old one, is our own disunity of mind and body (or ideals and our practice) and our failure to practice sacrificial love on the level of the family. Thus with a new Holy Day comes a new standard to attain and a new level of judgment.

Reverend and Mrs. Moon, having pioneered the path of True Love on the individual and family level, are standing as a unifying central point on the world level. They have created environments within which traditional enemies can dialogue and become friends. Scientists and religionists, leaders and

followers of all religions, and leaders of many nations have established relations of harmony in a God-centered vision for world peace.

This is the work of God through Messiahship, which Rev. and Mrs. Moon are accomplishing and which he is now declaring a birthright of all people. Based upon his course, we can establish peace at least within our hometowns. This is God’s eternal blessing, which the July 1 Holy Day celebrates.

1.4 True Mother’s Words on September 18, 1991 about the Ceremony to Declare God’s Eternal Blessing

As you well know, Father carried out the “Ceremony to Declare God’s Eternal Blessing” on July 1, 1991, in Korea, and declared a new era. And Father founded the “Inter-Religious Federation for World Peace” on August 27 and the “Federation for World Peace” on August 28 in Seoul Korea. By that, Father established the foundation for world peace and spurred the construction of the heavenly nation. Now is the time for the democratic world and communist world to unify centered on True Parents. Since the Moscow conference last year, communism collapsed. And with the founding of the Federation for World Peace, the democratic world and the communist world are becoming one. The fact that four thousand second generation Soviet Union and Eastern Europe students heard Principle seminars means a decisive victory for Godism.

And now is the time of the unification of all religions centered on True Parents. It is truly surprising that both Christian leaders and its historic enemy, Muslim leaders, are greatly moved by Divine Principle are greatly moved by Divine Principle and participating actively in the Inter- Religious Federation for World Peace. Now the conflicts among different religions and denominations are over. As the World Scripture was dedicated to Father, all the controversy over creeds came to an end. In this sense, Father made a unified church in Korea and opened a new chapter of unification of religion.

The Inter-Religious Federation for World peace and the Federation for World Peace are internally linked to the restoration of eldership, parentship, and kingship. Father completed the restoration of world level elder sonship through the Moscow conference last year and declared this on July 1. Therefore all the Cain dominion world will gradually collapse in family, tribe, national and world levels.

Due to the failure of restoring elder sonship, the religious and irreligious worlds divided and heaven and hell emerged. And spirit world exploited the human world. But from now on, the henchmen of Satan’s forces will be unable to wield power at will.

Dear families, have confidence that evil rulers of the world shall be on their knees before us. The spirit world will unite with our direction and Satan’s followers will be unable to approach us.

Father is emphasizing “Return to Hometown” to link the restoration of the elder sonship to the restoration of parentship. Originally, elder sonship and parentship were lost in the home. Therefore, to restore these, you must return to your hometown, where your home is, and establish the foundation of restoration centered on your own kin.

Father stressed home church from ten years ago. In particular, Father asked all blessed families to apply for tribal messiahship, and by declaring tribal messiahship, Father established the foundation for the restoration of parentship.

Finally, let us not fear the world. The Cain bloc is collapsing. Satan’s forces are retreating. Let us march forward as bride, daughter and mother more confidently than any other women in history. After the declaration day of July 1, everything will be resolved earlier than our expectation due to the cosmic force, and True Father will completely win. When we work together hand in hand, with prayer and united hearts, our victory is sure.

As Mother, I know your situation better than anyone else. And though my wish is that you all could rest, I cannot when I think of God’s will and see Father’s hard work. So I feel pain. I want to visit your home and share your situation and look at your growing children. The children of blessed families are God’s hope.

Please don’t lose courage. Let us advance strongly and courageously. Father and I will continuously pray for you and your descendants. I wish the blessing of God to be on your family and kin eternally. Thank you.

1.5 An overview of the meaning of the “Declaration Day of God’s Eternal Blessing” from International President Hyung Jin Moon

In his letter to leaders of June 24, 2009, Hyung Jin Nim wrote:

Significance of Chil Il Jeol (Declaration Day of God’s Eternal Blessing)

[Declaration Day of God’s Eternal Blessing] marked the day True Parents could proclaim the beginning of the providence of allowing blessed families to inherit the realm of victory of True Parents who had completed their responsibility throughout both the vertical and horizontal eight stages.

True Parents have perfected the three great blessings and thereby completed their portion of responsibility as the True Parents by establishing the standard for the restoration of the three rights—the cosmic right of the eldest son, the right of the parent, and kingship—by the end of June 1991. Thus, they formed the foundation for entering the realm of God’s direct dominion. On the victorious foundation of having restoring the number six, represented by the months from January to June, and which symbolizes the 6,000 years of history, they declared Chil Il Jeol at 7:00 am on July 1 at the Hannam-dong International Training Center.

It is written in Genesis 2:2, “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.” Through this declaration, God’s Sabbath was established. God’s blessing was now eternal and unwavering. In that light, the “Declaration Day of God’s Eternal Blessing” was designated as the seventh Holy Day. Through this victory we entered an era when the enemy could not remain in True Parents’ presence and when they could do anything they wished if they went forth centering on true love.

In declaring Chil Il Jeol, True Parents explained that the era indicating the responsibility of the parent had come to an end, opening the era of the children’s responsibility. This era refers to the era when blessed families, as tribal messiahs, inherit True Parents’ realm of victory. At the time of the declaration of Chil Il Jeol, all blessed families worldwide began their mission as tribal messiahs. Thus, this day is also called the Tribal Messiah Declaration Day.

Before designating Chil Il Jeol, True Parents had all blessed families submit the “Tribal Messiah Activity Application Form” and emphasized: “Do not forget that all blessed families without exception have the mission to establish the realm of victory in which Satan is immobilized, by establishing the standard of restoring the right of the eldest son, the right of the parent, and kingship—lost by Adam and Eve—in their families according to their connection with heaven.”

2.1 Excerpts from True Father’s address “The Ceremony of the Declaration of God’s Eternal Blessing” July 1, 1991, the day of the establishment of this occasion The entire speech may be found at this Unification Home Page link.

Those who bowed down first [in the July 1st Main Ceremony] were the representative of the free world and the representative of the communist world. Right now is the turning point when left becomes right and everything reverses. Because of rejection by the realm of Christianity, the realm of communism is progressing. Now we are stepping onto that new level. If the realm of communism does not take the path centered on Reverend Moon, it will fall off the track by which the world will progress. It is the same for America. However, Americans now are realizing that I possess a tremendous influence for good. Now the time has come when both America and Russia need Reverend Moon to provide the providential direction. Recently, 200 Russian military generals and members of the Parliament received Principle education in America. They are taking this up with the belief and knowledge that they will be victors by realizing the ideal world through Father’s Godism and Headwing Ideology. They know that Father’s thought will overcome their former materialistic idealism and will create the ideal world.

Looking ideologically at Communism, it is one sided, but because it contains facts which cannot be denied by history, the communists were able to influence and manipulate elite groups.

But now I have taken care of the conflict of left and right. On this foundation, Reverend Moon can go back and forth from America to the communist world, going straight where he wishes to go. Until now, we have always moved straight forward through our opposition. Although it has been this way since the beginning, absolutely the time in which it was even possible to wander without direction has passed. Now we have entered a time in which we can march straight towards our destination with the force of a hurricane and accuracy of a bullet.

I will make the True Family, the 36 Couples, 72 Couples, 120 Couples, 430 Couples, extending to the nth blessing group, stand correctly. But the blessed families who fail will become nourishment for worms.

I’m a person who even disregarded his own parents. Not only did I leave my brothers and sisters, I even left my own tribe. I left everything for God. Does God have a nation? Does God have parents? I attended only God, on behalf of the nation, parents, and elder and younger brothers and sisters. Despite many complications, I didn’t get caught up with distractions. I walked my way imposingly. To straighten the way, I overcame the environment. Even today, no matter what others say, I pioneer my way and walk the path. I overcame everything, so I make this proclamation today.

Is the representation of the democratic world, communist world, and religious world a problem? Making the democratic world and communist world into one is a problem. They came this far with their minds and bodies separated, and because of this separation there has been a lot of bloodshed. Religion and government have stood face to face until now. The people in government have been beating the people of religion. The body always strikes the mind, right? They are each other’s enemy.

Religion has sacrificed a lot and shed much blood. No one knows where and when the blood you shed will bear fruit equal to its value. This is the meaning of being a true parent: because of True Parents, the religious realm and the governmental realm, as well as the democratic world and the communist world, can be united. Why? Since all conflict began with the separation of false parents, it must be brought into oneness by True Parents.

Making a Breakthrough in the Neighborhood and Settling the Family Is the Most Significant Struggle

Elder sonship, as I told you, is not yet concluded. Now it is parentship. You have to understand the significance of your request to become tribal messiahs [the application for Tribal Messiahship submitted worldwide on July 1, 1991]. Because this is that day, you have to fulfill it

now. Even if you are the elder in your clan, or if you have been in the church for a long time, if you don’t request to become a tribal messiah, you’ll be left out. Then, for example, if you are Kim, you can’t establish Kim’s tribe. Whatever your position might have been, it will be meaningless. Even if you are the chairman of the Federation or a Regional Director, if you don’t make this request to register as a Tribal Messiah, you are disqualified. If you act according to your own consensus, you’ll be greatly ashamed for the rest of your life.

Where did the loss of elder sonship, loss of parentship, and loss of kingship take place? It was not out in the world. So, where can we find these? At home. At home, we lost everything. What we have to do now is settle as families by breaking through the rigid social structure. That is the core of my direction. It is a battle for life, a fight which determines everything.

I did not plan to come to Korea at this time. And I did not plan to declare the Day of God’s Eternal Blessing. But we cannot do without this ceremony. Through the declaration, we will see who is determined to fight with their life, and who is a fake. In a serious time such as this, can one just be a bystander? Can one worry about finding a job? Did you come to the Unification Church in order to get a job? Did you get blessed so you could get a job? If your wife and children block your path in doing the will, you should be ready to leave them. I did not bless you to be people who would do otherwise.

You should go back to your hometowns to establish family foundations and, centering on your parents, build the foundation for restoration. Aren’t your children born within the family? Do you not make love in your home? Where do husband and wife stand in unity based on love? It is in the tribal hall of assembly. This is the time that has come after unimaginable difficulties. I spent 40 years, 70 years in reality, to come to this moment. Given the fact that we are in a time when all can go back to their families to build foundations to restore elder sonship, the realm of parents, and the realm of kingship, anyone who denies this reality and acts on their disbelief will be punished. We have to cut it off from our line of people.

Fulfill the Kingdom of Heaven of the Family Centered on Love

Through the True Parents, God has become the owner of love, and He wants to be the owner of life. Satan has to be eliminated in order for that to happen. We even want to liberate Satan. The archangel was in a position to take his place behind mankind. He was to wait for mankind to be liberated from the pit of hell, and to fulfill his original mission by guiding the children of Adam and Eve to Heaven. Following the original principle of protecting Adam and Eve from falling at any cost, he even was to seek after the people in hell. That’s how it is. Finding this path is the course of restoration.

Today, I proclaimed the victory that liberates the realm of Cain from Satan’s dominion. So there is nothing for which Satan can accuse True Parents. This does not just happen through a wily scheme: it has to follow the law of Principle. Because that was done, the world revolves around the fortunes of your family. It is not a company. It is not a nation. The nation of Korea does not

shape the heavenly fortune. If this does not start from your family, the race and the nation will disappear and will have no relationship with Heaven.

After I gather all for whom I have fought on the worldwide level and bestow blessing upon them, you will go back. You must land at the original base and secure the supreme power of the family level victory, coming to represent the birthright of Heaven. Then you will represent the parents’ right and the king’s right, and when you accomplish that you do not need to be under the control of anyone. You will know how to live, right? If there are things of which you are not sure, you can read my collected sermons. My sermons reveal how I have lived my life.

After establishing this moral foundation in a tribe, a nation and the world, then this family must keep the master’s love of the family heaven in its center, and stand in the master’s seat centering on love. Then that family gains the qualification to be a master of life and to start putting forth buds.

Life starts from love. The lineage begins from the place where life and love are united. Upon receiving God’s blessing, if you govern a long life receiving Heaven’s blessing, prosperity will result. The descendant who can expand horizontally will be born.

History has flowed and flowed until now, and has arrived at this point. Due to the appearance of false parents, the ideal of creation which started with true parents left behind many miserable situations in the course of history, and history continued on as a bloodcurdling conflict filled with death in back of the many human beings. While reflecting on these facts once again, we come to realize that the same time that heaven exists, which seeks to deal with those realities, the devil also exists, who is seeking to destroy God’s dealings with those realities, and the devil has occupied the earth as his domain. And we have realized how lonely and solitary the situation of heaven was.

We could not fulfill our responsibility of having to return glory to heaven as attendants, by leading and dealing with even the angelic world, with the horizontal, even authority of the parents on earth. Because of that, humankind became the servants of Satan, and by our having become sons and daughters who inherited the blood lineage of Satan, history has continued down as a history of grief, and more grief, and even more grief, from which we could not escape even if we wanted to. When we think once again about this fact, we come to realize that human beings, who were born as the descendents of the fall, are people who have inherited the fruits of grief, an that a course of grief remains before us as well in order to recover the destined relationship of the blood lineage of the True Parents, by our dealing with ourselves on our own with minds that respect the position of the family members of heaven,

while admitting that we are people who have inherited the blood of the traitor of heaven.

Humankind was born in the position of the child of the devil and in a position like an orphan who has lost his parents. Human beings have stood in the position of the children of the devil, but the devil has not loved them, and has driven them along a path where they are able to betray the way of heaven.

Because of that fact, hell on earth and hell in the spirit world come into existence, and they did not know heaven which thought of that as grief, and all of the people of history were unfilial and disloyal. we earnestly hope that your son will forgive everything human beings have done in history. This was because Adam and Eve, who became false parents, could not live according to the destined relationship of true love, and were connected through false love, and grew up like a tree which bore many fruits on this earth. It is nearly impossible to gather all these fruits again and return them to the original standard. But heaven linked that again through a group of people who sought the realm of the chosen people, by starting from the brothers,

up to the original position which is the world of the womb, by representing the individual, the family, the tribe, up through the people in terms of the blood lineage.

We know how great the labor of heaven was in order to have the dutiful way of the destined relationship of the True Parents appear on this earth.

The people of Israel walked a grief-filled, historical course which was a continuation of bloodcurdling conflicts and the blood of martyrs for two thousand years.

After that, the day in which Jesus could be sent to the earth for the first time from heaven, with the authority of the only son, in the position of an original, sanctified child, that day must have been such a day of hope, such a day of liberation, But because the people of Israel did not know that and nailed him to the cross, they once again added to the Brigid Marlin: “The Finding in the Temple” grief of heaven, image source and at the same time extended the foundation of Satan.

Because of that, the course of history became one that had doubly difficult, rugged peaks that had to be gone over. In order to work through this, the Christian believers inherited the blood of martyrdom. And in order to represent the Chief Priests, the Christians have sacrificed much and have shed much blood, while wandering everywhere as a people who had no nation, who had lost the realm of Israel,

and as a people without a nation for two thousand years, while enduring the solitary way of sorrow and persecution.

The Christian cultural realm inherited that kind of blood of martyrdom, and extended the world foundation where the historical age of today could once again be connected to the realm of heaven. Centered on the Second World War, the Christian realm was in a position that was able to have, together with the age of the Second Advent, a nation with the sovereignty that is the final destination and that represented the world. But, Christianity, and the United States, which was leading Christianity, did not fulfill their mission, and fell down to the earth.

For that kind of reason, the people of our movement, who have been called to the Will of all the historical hopes, in accordance with the destined relationship of the True Parents and the Unification Church today, have lost their nation, have lost the world, and have lost their place to stand, and have been driven out into the lonely wilderness. But through the protection of heaven until today, we have established the church again; we have liberated the people again; we have connected again with Christianity, which represented the realm of world dominion; we have gone to America, which represent the free world, and have been victorious; have not collapsed along the course of persecution even while going against the current to the communist realm, and we have been victorious.

Now as of July 1, 1991, we will clear away the grief-filled historical course of indemnity; we attend anew the horizontal True Parents who are able to be the original parents together with the Lord of creation, God, and the right and the left will become one; north and south will become one; and by the religious realms and political realms all becoming one, we will inherit the authority of the eldest son, inherit the authority of the parents, inherit the kinship, and we know that all these circumstances are needed to find the realm of liberation of the original world. And not only that, we follow the dutiful way of true love which is the center—the individual, the family, tribe, people and entire nation centered on the original nature, centered on true love. And we know that it will not do unless in accordance with the one absolute direction, the original Kingdom of Heaven, which is the final, absolute goal, becomes the foundation of the family where we live on earth, representing the earth. Therefore, the Unification Church has received from heaven the command to move forward in relation to the task of the sacred mission that it will not do unless we proclaim tribal messiahs, settle down, and break through on the local and neighborhood levels.

We have come to know that the positions where we must stand are not as the leader of some church or the chairman of some federation; rather, now we must find the position of the filial son who is able to attend the parents; we must find the position of loyal patriots who are able to attend the nation; we must find the position of saints who are able to attend the world; and we must find the dutiful way of the divine sons who are able to attend heaven and earth. The age has come in which it will not do unless, beginning from the family,

we plant that kind of tradition, in which we can declare the completion of the grave five percent portion of responsibility of each individual. The activities of the parents for the mission have already been completed. As of today I have completed the responsibility I had to fulfill in relation to the free world and the communist world and North and south Korea. Now what is left is that the people of the Unification Movement, the children, and the children of the blessed couples must inherit the tradition and be very thorough in carrying it out. The stage on which that can be accomplished centered on principled education, is not the nation or the world. This is the time in which I clearly proclaim that the course of the portion of responsibility in which we must complete our five percent of responsibility, is the establishment of the foundation of the family.

Therefore, Father, please accomplish this solidly. The person who does not have a victorious dominion over his family cannot stand before his tribe; the person who does not have a victorious dominion

over his tribe cannot stand before his people; the person who does not have a victorious dominion over his people cannot stand before the world; the person who does not have a victorious dominion over the world, cannot stand before the cosmos;

and without having a victorious dominion over the cosmos, a person cannot stand before heaven, nor attend events before your throne in the heavenly kingdom. Please let us accept all these things as the solemn truth. The age of the completion of the five percent portion of responsibility has come in which each individual must act on his own authority. Now even the persecution of Satan has disappeared completely from our right and left.

The Unification Movement is being gathered into a situation where all humankind should respect it as a symbol to be respected highly by the whole world. In order to attend and to accept this, we will have to prepare the place that is able to become the foundation of the Kingdom of Heaven, starting from the foundation of heaven’s blood lineage on a revolutionary foundation, by making the family foundation anew, and by changing the blood lineage through the destined relationship of the blessing by becoming a movement that is able to represent the whole clan as the original family of Adam and Eve.

Until now, none of the members of the Unification Movement know that the beginning of a new base is possible only where each individual becomes one in mind and body so that he or she will not be ashamed; where men and women, and couples become one; and where families are found and established in which the parents are one.

Please let us know that now from July 1 on, the world-level age of history is coming in which we must march forward in order to deal with our families and our clans, and in which we must go forward toward this decisive peak.

On the first of July, this day was decided as a day in which one could make this kind of application, in which tribal messiahs are declared throughout the world. Therefore, we earnestly hope and desire that you will not allow us to forget the mission of blessed couples to establish the dominion of victory which no one can shake.

Starting from the family, we must pound in, like steel pillars, the standards of the restoration of the authority of the parents, and of kingship, which Adam and Eve lost. Please do not let any of the people who applied for that look around to the right or to the left while pursuing their destined relationship with the family of heaven.

Because this origin came into existence, through which this standard of the family can be kept, we want to open the way that is able to arrive even at heaven through this foundation, by linking the tribe, linking the people, linking the nation, linking the world, and linking the cosmos. Therefore, heavenly Father, please allow such a time.

Now please appoint, just as they are, all the representatives who have bowed down respectfully, three people by three people, for the sake of heaven in this ceremony. Since I proclaim this to the entire universe

in the name of the True Parents, may heaven please directly take authority over everything. Please allow us to pass over from the grief-filled age of history to the age in which the inability of heaven’s almighty omnipotence to act and to do everything is restored through the True Parents, through the standard that established the condition of the perfection of the True Parents, and to the age in which you can have dominion over all nations.

Beloved Heavenly Father! Today is July 1, 1991. We understand that the year 1991 is the very last crucial moment in the dispensational transition period. From the very first day of this year until the end of June, we have persevered through many complications and difficulties, and are now finally entering the month of July. Now that the first half of 1991 has passed, we understand that the second half of this year is the time in Your providential history when we can reach the summit of new hope to enter the world of freedom and peace in Your kingdom.

Now, the resentments caused by the North-South division of the Korean peninsula and all the suffering and struggle brought about by East-West complications have all been dissolved by the True Parents. All historical conflicts sown by the false parents have been victoriously overcome by the True Parents, and the era has arrived in which the communist and free worlds, and North and South Korea, can unify. Heavenly Father! Thank You for allowing me to perform the Declaration Ceremony of God’s Eternal Blessing on this day, bringing to a culmination the sacrificial effort You have offered, together with everything representing Your providential history, and thus celebrate together this day of victory, liberation and glory.

The overall meaning of providential history dictates that without having fulfilled the mission of tribal messiah, one’s family and nation cannot be connected to the providence. We are so grateful to be able to welcome this day on which we can declare ourselves to be tribal messiahs. We are truly grateful that as of this day we are free to proclaim ourselves as the kindred of the True Parents.

We are thankful that You protected each of our courses of faith up to this point, and that  as of this day, July 1, 1991, we are finally able to eliminate the grievous course of historical

indemnity. We are aware that now is the time of declaration to reclaim the liberated world of original nature. This world will emerge when the left and right wings unite and when North and South Korea, plus the religious realm and the political realm inherit right of kingship in the parental realm, attending the Creator God and the horizontal True Parents who are the original parents.

We should not stop there, however; centering upon the true love of original nature, we should fulfill the obligations of true love, which is the center for the individual, family, tribe, people, nation, and the whole universe. We understand that by so doing, we must become the foundation for the families living on earth who are the representatives of Your kingdom as originally intended. This is the absolute purpose and goal following the one absolute direction. In order to bring this to pass, we have been issued the order to advance and carry out this solemn task, which means breaking through in the local neighborhood activities (tong-ban gyeokpa).

With this in mind as the final destination,  all of us should realize that from the first of July we are entering a new era of world history when we should march forward in full force to save our families and our tribes. Moreover, I have designated this day, the first day of July, to be the one on which we can apply and declare ourselves to be tribal messiahs across the world. All those who have applied to become tribal messiahs should not look to one side or look back, but, rather, follow the destiny You have given them directly and fulfill their missions as Blessed Families. This is to first restore and establish in their families the standards of the right of the eldest son, right of the parent and right of kingship that were lost by Adam and Eve, and then firmly establish a victorious legacy that no one, not even Satan, can affect in any way. Please help us to never forget that such is the mission given for each Blessed Family to fulfill.

 In Your presence, there is no free world or communist world, no South or North, and no Satan. I declare in the name of the True Parents to both the spiritual and the physical worlds that all the works of evil will be cleared away and buried forever alongside fallen history, and that Your victorious and liberated kingdom will be established on earth. I therefore beseech You to let us become a shield for all generations to come. I proclaim this in the name of the True Parents at this time on this day of the first of July! Amen! By concluding the ceremony of Chil Il Jeol, we inaugurate the era in which the True Parents can do as they please. Until this time, I was not free to do as I pleased. If I could have done all that I wanted to do, why would I have suffered? Why would I have acted so powerlessly before the world? There is a time for everything. Without fulfilling my responsibility with regard to time, I cannot lift up my face and lead others. (218-16, 1991.7.1)

I must prevail over the satanic realm. Now, with the name of True Parents, I can triumph over persecution on the levels of the individual, the family, the tribe, the people, the nation and world. Although both the communist and free worlds have opposed the Unification Church and Rev. Moon, by educating Soviet leaders in Washington, D.C. in the free world, I am the victor in the end. (218-19, 1991.7.1)

The authority of the True Parents and God are the only things that can be on the rise. Therefore, others have now lost the power to overstep their authority. If they continue to carry on forcibly as they have done in the past, they will only collapse. If such a thing were to take place in Korea, then both North and South would ultimately perish. No single leader, whether from the North or the South, has the power to have his own way in everything. Thus, this proclamation must be made. Up until now, false parents have been in charge, but the time has come for the True Parents to bring everything together in a proclamation, which should be made this very day. (218-32, 1991.7.1)

On July 21, 1991, Rev. Zin-moon Kim reported details concerning the order of events of the ceremony of the Declaration Day of God’s Eternal Blessing, July 1, 1991 in Korea:

Father had three representatives bow for each group or nation important to Gods providence. Three people each represented the following eleven categories:

III. Responsibilities of Tribal Messiahs Working in Their Hometowns

3.1 The meaning of Tribal Messiah

First, from Chapter 4 of Exposition of the Divine Principle, “The Messiah: His Advent and the Purpose of His Second Coming,” we find these words in explanation of the meaning of “Messiah”:

The word “Messiah” in Hebrew means the “anointed one,” signifying a king. The chosen people of Israel believed in the Word of God as revealed through the prophets, which promised that God would send them a king and savior. Such was their messianic expectation. God sent this Messiah in the person of Jesus Christ. “Christ” is the Greek word for Messiah.

The Messiah comes to fulfill the purpose of God’s work of salvation. Human beings need salvation because of the Fall. Hence, before we can clarify the meaning of salvation, we must first understand the matter of the Fall. Furthermore, since the Fall implies the failure to accomplish God’s purpose of creation, before we can clarify the significance of the Fall, we must first understand the purpose of creation.

God’s purpose of creation was to be fulfilled with the establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. However, due to the human Fall, we have built hell on earth in place of God’s Kingdom. Since the Fall, God has been repeatedly working His providence to restore the Kingdom. Being the history of the providence of restoration, human history’s primary goal is to establish the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. … Jesus came as the Messiah for nothing less than the complete salvation of humanity; he was to fulfill the goal of the providence of restoration.

On October 31, 1965, True Father explains that the tribal messiah is responsible to bring redemption to his or her extended family:

Those of you who came to this place have the same mission as the messiah of the Kim clan if you are a Kim. You should think, “I am the messiah,” representing the Kim clan if you are from the Kim clan, or the Park clan if you are from the Park clan, and are responsible to build the nation of Heaven representing that clan. Think that you are the savior who redeems the Kim clan. In order to do that, you must fulfill the responsibility of high priest to the whole Kim clan. (1965.10.31 Taegu Church)

If you do not feel confident to work alone, you can make a team of four who can take turns to go to each of your cities and work together. If you still can’t do it, make a group of twelve people. You can go up to 120 people in this way.

2. Tribal Messiah accomplishes 120 families, 360 families and 720 families.

3. Second Home Town

In Korea Father allowed a second Home Town since many of the members have their Home Town in North Korea. This second Home Town will instantly be connected when the border will be removed. The main task is to teach Divine Principle.

4. Unification comes from the individual, family and goes to the higher levels. Use Churches and Public Places to teach Divine Principle.

5. Train and arm the World with superior thought and organization. By doing that we can win any election.

III. The Mission of the Tribal Messiah

3. The Mission of the Tribal Messiah is inevitable. We can’t avoid it and must do it until we succeed.

IV. Tradition of God and True Parents

1. Live for the sake of others.

2. Invest and invest again and forget that you invested.

3. Pray for perfection and dedicate many hearts to perfection.

V. Steps of Recreation

1. You must create an environment

Everything exists in Subject and Object relationships for the purpose of love. The concept of love existed first. We get blessed to become One in Love through our Sexual Organs. Here lies the origin of Love, Life and Lineage. This part of your body is the most valuable area. Find material through which you can recreate (fundraise). Restore from the satanic world. You must add your blood, sweat and tears to it and offer it to Heaven. Through this you can go up and inherit the Elder Son’s Position from Satan. You must win approval from Satan.

4. Connecting with True Love

God did not become great instantly. He worked for it. To become great, something must be added. You must add True Love. The more True Love you invest, the greater will be the response to you (small input, greater output). Forget your investment. If you had totally given of yourself, God would have filled you up by now. The only reason you have not enough is that you have not invested yourself totally. Eternal life becomes greater with time. Investing in Father means to become prosperous.

VI. The Foundation of Victory and the Foundation of Cain and Abel

Unless Subject and Object unite, there cannot be a good relationship between Cain and Abel.

A good relationship between Cain and Abel means perfection.

1. Establish the Family Foundation of Good Give and Take Action

Father shares all of this with you as His bosom friends in the hope that you will live up to your responsibility. Father misses you very much. When you have to go away, Father wishes for you to stay longer.

2. Foundation of the Tribe.

3. National Foundation.

Adam and Eve and Jesus should have established this Foundation.

4. True Parents Foundation

a) Children Foundation, Parents Foundation, National Foundation, World Foundation and Cosmic Foundation.

VII. Unification Federation for World Peace

A world of peaceful nations. Satan’s world completely destroyed. The Kingdom of God reigns forever and ever. In the Moslem symbol a man carries the Koran in one hand and a Sword in the other. This is not of God but of Satan. Now we understand who and what the Lord of the Second Advent is.

Through the Headwing Thought everything was accomplished. When we talk of Headwing people know that this means Godism, Rev. Moon and the Unification Church.

The conclusion is this. We must return to our native land. There you must teach the Divine Principle. This will be your main weapon to educate your people.

Father, if he wants to go to Moscow, he would get the best room in the Kremlin. Gorbachev would give it to Father. Would Bush offer Father the best room in the White House? Bush is not listening right now. Father is avoiding a confrontation with Bush and America. Both Bush and America would decline. Father wants to educate Bush some more.

Gorbachev has no one in the western world that he can trust. He asked Father to find him someone. Now all the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle are falling into place and you can easily see the result.

Go to Hometown and become a Tribal Messiah.

We will own ourselves if we obey Father. If we don’t, we will be slaves like the Israelites if they had not left Egypt.

On July 1, 1991, a special Tribal Messiah Ceremony was held. We must witness to the world. Just imagine if 5 billion people could participate in this birthday celebration. It could be done via satellite.

Father will go back to Alaska in a few days. He will work hard to make up the deficit. The elder Japanese members are going back to Japan. They did not come to get a job, but to create a new country. You will be the Founding Fathers of this nation and world.

3.2 True Father’s directions concerning the responsibilities of Tribal Messiahs working in their Hometowns

On January 1, 1989, [from p. 177 of The Tribal Messiah HSA Publications, 1994] True Father said:

If the 38th Parallel opens up, I would be the first to go to my hometown.

On October 8, 1989, [from p. 83 of The Tribal Messiah HSA Publications, 1994] True Father said:

The purpose of the proclamation of tribal messiah is to endorse, approve and proclaim, with the authority of the Kingdom of Heaven, the family that fulfills the standard of heaven and that was found by restoring the mistake of fallen Adam and Eve.

On May 12, 1991, in his message “The Responsibility of Tribal Messiahship,” True Father explained:

Tribal messiahship is powerful. The formation stage is the individual level, the growth stage is the family level, and tribal messiahship is the perfection level through which you will connect to God’s level.

So fulfill your duty. People who cannot fulfill this mission cannot go back to God. After completion, you will connect to Father’s place, and from there, to God’s bosom. Jesus had to stay in Paradise, waiting to enter Heaven, until True Parents could become the horizontal center and tribal messiahship was established.

By July l, you should sign the pledge, “I will do tribal messiahship, centered on God and True Parents.”

There will be an official application form for all worldwide blessed couples to fill out who want to participate in doing tribal messiahship work. The form will explain your responsibilities. If you don’t submit one, Father cannot take responsibility for you. This is up to you.

3.3 Excerpts from Volume 9 “The Tribal Messiah” of the Gathering for Reading and Learning (훈독회 Hoondokhae) Series

Why do you have to fulfill the responsibility of tribal messiah? The first reason is that you must save your parents. The parent is in the position of the first Adam, and you are in the position of the second Adam. You must complete the mission of Adam by restoring and re-creating your parents.

The second reason is that you need a hometown. By completing the responsibility of tribal messiah, you will be able to have your own hometown. Ultimately the reason for fulfilling your portion of responsibility as a tribal messiah is the perfection of Adam’s family. Concretely, you must educate your tribe. (1991.5.12. East Garden)

From July 1st, blessed families should actively perform the responsibilities of tribal messiahship. When we send out applications that indicate the portion of responsibility that you have to fulfill as tribal messiahs, fill them out and submit them. (1991.5.12. East Garden)

When you go back to hometown, establish a lighthouse, okay? What is a lighthouse? At night, it gives light in the dark. What is it for? It is for the unification of north and south and east and west. From now on, you must light it up so that the light in the holy place does not go out.

During True Parents historical November 30 - December 7, 1991 visit to North Korea, his party was able to visit True Father’s childhood home located at 2221 Sang-sa Village (상사리), Deok-eon District (덕언면), Jeong-ju County (정주군), North Pyeong-an Province (평안북도), North Korea. Here True Father was able to greet relatives whom he had not seen in many years and pay respect to his parents at their gravesite.

The following is an excerpt from a 1997 review of the Providence by Prof. Taek-yong Oh:

True Father had completed the restoration of the worldwide Elder Sonship through the meeting of Gorbachev at the Moscow Rally from April 9th to 13th of 1990. Upon this foundation True Father proclaimed the Elder Sonship on the ceremony of the Declaration Day of God’s Eternal Blessing on July 1st of 1991. In order for True Father to connect the restoration of the Elder Sonship to the restoration of the Parentship, True Father had directed the ‘Return to Hometown’ and sent Tribal Messiahs on September 1st of 1991. Right after that, True Parents, centering on True Love, have completed the restoration of Parentship with the victory through the historical meeting with Kim Il- sung, the False Parents from November 30th to December 7th of 1991. Then, True Parents have proclaimed the historical True Parentship through the rally of the leaders of the Women’s Federation for World Peace held at four cities in Korea from July 6th through 9th of 1992. Through this, True Father had raised the dimension of the providential flow and open the way of the Blessing to the public.

Meeting with Gorbachev at the Moscow Rally became the foundation of the proclamation of the Elder Sonship and the victorious event of meeting with Kim Il-Sung became the foundation of the proclamation of the True Parentship. Likewise, True Parents needed some foundation in order to proclaim the Kingship. It, indeed, was the sending National Messiahs [in 1996].

Here, from the August 1992 Unification News, is an excerpt from Dr. Tyler Hendricks’s report of the national celebration in the United States.

The 1992 celebration in New York, representing the national celebration, was unique in that the elder members of the True Family were away, for the most part in Korea. With grace and to the delight of our elder members, the eldest Moon daughter born in America—Sun Jin Nim, age 15—presided over the Main Ceremony. The hundred members attending that family celebration in the Bamboo Room of the World Mission Center truly were honored to witness her dignified inheritance of her parents’ role, through such simple actions as prayer, cutting the celebration cake and sharing rice cakes with the other members of the family. We are truly confident of the multiplication of spiritual power and authority through all the lineage of the True Parents.

Here, from unofficial notes, are excerpts from True Father’s words on July 1, 1992:

We cannot go to Heaven just because Father is there in Heaven. Not everybody who goes to the same school will graduate at the same time and some even flunk the courses. What do you think about yourself? Evaluate yourself. Can you uphold Father’s tradition and truth by yourself? Can Father harvest you? Are you a good seed? Some of you are rotten and won’t give new life. Father is working on the world level and is reaping a big harvest. Can he expect a harvest from you?

You are like a cup, if you are filled with dirty water, Father wants to empty you out and fill you up with clean water. You suffered much in your church life and now Father is asking you again to suffer. Shall we do it? You must forget your wife, children and everything else. This will make you empty of the dirty water. You will be filled with clean water and Father will be able to work much better with you. This is the reason why Father is chasing the Blessed Couples away from their comfortable home. Father also started all over again.

We must go Jesus and Father’s course. It is much easier now, but still we must do it. Now there will always be someone who will look after your children. This was not so when Father first started. Korean leaders suffered the most in the beginning.

What if you belong to the Headquarters Church or some company? That does not matter; you must go your own individual course and live your life. This means Hometown. You are starting your Tribal Messiah mission. Go back to your original home. Father restored the Elder Sonship, True Parentship and True Kingship. Adam was to occupy all three positions. On the 20th of July we got together and formed the Royal Family. The course we take from now on is a True Love Course. Satan cannot follow there.

The whole world is welcoming Rev. Moon now. If you go back and invest your family and clan, a whole new world will come to exist for you. Adam was to establish a country. By establishing a clan we automatically establish a nation.

You are in the original Adam’s position. Go and resurrect your parents as Adam and Eve. You are in the position of Jesus’ family. Father is in the position of True Parents. You can separate from evil and even restore Jesus. We are creating a new Jesus. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Adam’s branch must connect to the Tribal Messiah concept. Connect yourself into the main trunk and your whole lineage will come alive. It will work!

Once you go to your Home Town, you will take away Satan’s dominion and restore it to God. This actually means that:

1) You let your parents stand in an unfallen position.

2) You let Jesus’ disciples stand in an unfallen position.

3) You stand in the position of the True Parents and the 3rd, perfected Adam.

We must go so that we can connect to the Spirit World. There many of our ancestors live. The full resurrection of spirit men is possible through this course. We will have the same value as perfectly restored families. One thing is for sure, you must restore your tribe to make your own Home Town foundation. Father must also have his own Home Town. You must feel God’s feelings and heart as you restore your Home Town. Unless you do that, you cannot go to Heaven.

You are standing on the territory where the seven tribes of Canaan were wiped out. We must restore Canaan through Home Town. We must digest Canaan and not be digested by it. The tribe’s goal is to realize a nation. You are now in the Elder Son’s position. The people in your Home Town are in the younger son’s position. If you take your position well, they will listen to you.

For Father and Mother to stand in a position to proclaim a Day of God’s Eternal Blessing is incredible. It’s the seventh holy day of our church. From 1945 to 1985 was our True Parents’ forty-year indemnity period. Six years later, this holiday was announced. Many calamities happened that year: earthquakes, natural disasters, so much chaos. In that chaotic year which Satan wanted to claim for himself, our True Parents proclaimed this Day of God’s Eternal Blessing. In the seventh year after the forty-year indemnity period, Father and Mother founded the Women’s Federation for World Peace. This eighth year marks a new beginning. In seven years we will be entering the new millennium. If we can carry forth this tradition and bring the message of true love to the world, it will be the substantiation of the Heavenly Kingdom on earth.

With the Day of God’s Eternal Blessing came the blessing of tribal messiahship. What does tribal messiah mean to you? [In Jin Nim asks several members of the audience to respond to her question. Answers include: becoming messiahs for our tribe, showing God’s love, making sacrifices, giving the truth, giving of ourselves, serving.]

Be little Reverend Moons and Mrs. Moons

By asking us to be tribal messiahs, True Parents have given us a very important gift. Father and Mother are the first True Parents. That means that they are the first man and woman to stand victoriously on the foundation of true love and establish an ideal family. To be tribal messiahs means to be little Reverend Moons and little Mrs. Moons. We have to be the representatives of True Parents wherever we go.

From June 18 through July 8 1995, True Father visited 13 countries: Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, Columbia, Panama, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Mexico. Upon his return, at a leader’s meeting, True Father spoke to the gathered members saying (notes are both from this report and another typed version:

If we continue the way we are going until we die, how many will we be able to bring to True Parents? Can you feel like you can eat? … Be desperate like when you are hungry and looking for food. Father asks how many spiritual children we have.

If you are a life-bearing soul, you can multiply a thousand-fold.

How serious have you been in regard to your mission? Have you had the feeling that you were like the prisoner about to be executed? It is a life or death matter. Only those who live like Father are allowed to join him in the spiritual world and live in the same place. Do you imagine that you can continue to live your lives the way you have been doing up until now and then simply because of your acquaintance with True Father that in the spiritual world, you will be able to shout out to Father that you are there? Just by being a Blessed couple you think this is enough. Blessed couple level is not Father’s level. You have to live at the same level as True Father in order to be with him. This is not Father’s viewpoint. This is the principled viewpoint. Do you understand?

In 1996, True Parents send out National Messiahs and remind us that Messiahship is the birthright of all people.

In his August 4, 1996 message at Belvedere at the time of sending out National Messiahs, True Father encouraged us, saying:

Have you really established your family so that your neighbors and entire community pay respect to your family by declaring you, as a Unification Church family, to be such a good example? We have to lift up our standard within our community and our homes. But we have ignored that aspect of life. When your neighbors all respect you and your family as an exemplary family, then they will eventually follow you.

If you live in an apartment complex for five years and are afraid to open your mouth in

order to witness to neighbors, are you good or bad? You have to create the atmosphere around you, the recreation foundation atmosphere. Have you made that kind of foundation? No, you have not. In order to take that position you have to become subject, like God. You have to invest with your sweat, flesh and bone.

Father has already built the ladder from hell to heaven. Satan has tried in every possible way to cut off this ladder. But Father has defeated Satan at every stage and now the ladder is completed. This ladder stands as a highway from hell to heaven. There is only one ladder. If you had to build this ladder and go up step by step it would take more than four million years. Since Father has completed this ladder, Father now lends you this ladder to climb up. You don’t have your own victorious foundation of family, tribal and national messiahship. This means you don’t have your own ladder. The only way for you is to use Father’s ladder. We have to come to the complete zero point through absolute faith, love and obedience. Do you clearly understand? (Yes.) True Father has created the atmosphere for you to become national messiahs. … The only way to go up to the level of national messiahs is by going up the ladder which Father has created. This is the time to claim back God’s kingship. Kingship means national messiahship. Father is the King of kings. Your position is to follow the way of absolute faith, love and obedience.

Do you wish to receive the gift of a child from God? (Yes.) If your husband is not really good enough, not mature enough, then please raise your husband to the level of king and make yourself a queen and then produce a child. Like the mother of a nation, you have to reach that level. Then make your husband the king of the nation. Then produce princes and princesses.

We will now be entering the world of the ideal and the age of justification by attendance, where we will be in constant attendance of God and the True Parents every day of the week, from Monday to Sunday, from morning till night, eating, sleeping, and leading our daily lives together with them. Last July 1st [1998] was the eighth anniversary of the Declaration Day of God’s Eternal Blessing. Among the most important points about this day’s significance, as Father explained in Han Nam Dong in 1991, was the elevation of our True Mother to the same level as Father, as his absolute object. On this foundation the WFWP was established in April 1992, the era of woman was opened, and Mother has been leading and initiating many aspects of the providence during these years. Through her worldwide travels she has become a truly international leader.

Another significant accomplishment of this “Declaration Day” was the inauguration of the Tribal Messiah providence. On July 1 this year Father dedicated the new training center at New Hope Farm as the “Educational Headquarters for World Peace through Ideal Families.” He invited 2000 people to the dedication ceremony, including 16 mayors from the surrounding 33 cities as well as senators and congressmen from many South American countries. After speaking Father asked three representatives to report, including Mr. Joo as the President of the Washington Times.

Father plans to use this huge training center for a middle school, high school, long distance learning center for Bridgeport University, and a fish farm to support South American development. But first of all Father has established a training center there for teaching ideal family life to our blessed couples. Father mentioned that the New Hope Farm will be the most precious holy ground for our members. Father wants all blessed couples and their children to attend a special 40-day training session as a family unit. This training will be very different from past workshops. Through living with nature, and exploring hobby life, we can re-awaken our original minds and return to the Garden of Eden. This will be a unique and exciting experience for each family.

Dearest beloved Father: Today is July 1, 2000, the 10th commemoration of the Declaration Day of God’s Eternal Blessing. It has been already the tenth year since You designated this day to commemorate the day of Your eternal blessing centering on the peace and ideal of the cosmos. Throughout history, the Parents of Heaven and Earth had overcome many situations in order to straighten out heaven and earth. They have become one body for the sake of establishing this title that we see today.

We will arm ourselves with the privileges of the soldiers of liberation, and as the task of liberating the fatherland lies before us, You will make that goal our standard and we pray that You may allow us to make daily progress in everything that we do with the support of the will of the unification family. That is all-transcendent, all-pervading, all-powerful and carries total authority to clear up the earthly world, the heavenly world and spirit world.

The division of North and South Korea was brought about by the fall of the first human ancestors and is a result of the ancestors of good and evil which originates from the separation of the mind and body. The world and cosmos have now been united in that country; the grace of the family has embraced the world which can truly bring together the problems of the youth and the problems of family breakdown to create a unified sphere where the individual, family, tribe, people, nation and cosmos can become one. We pray that Your base for the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, Your ideal of creation can be created so that it can easily circulate through 360 degrees centering on love, centering on the parallel lines that are aligned with the historical parallels of love that attend the Parents of Heaven and Earth, the vertical standard, and the spiritual and physical Parents of Heaven and Earth.

By acquiring the realm of liberation that can connect to the vertical world in heaven and shining out like the rays of daylight, the dark world has passed and it has become the age where the bright heavens and earth can return. In the wake of this age of supreme authority and omnipotence that can unilaterally bring everything together centering on the governance of heaven’s love, we will all become one and thank You to celebrate the Day of God’s Eternal Blessing in front of Heaven with gratitude.

To enter Heaven you should create wholesome unity in your family together with your sons and daughters. Those among the thirty-six couple blessed families who have problems should be re-evaluated. That way, we should go beyond the family level blessing age into the national level blessing age, and eventually to the worldwide blessing age. Since we still have such a task before us, I can still forgive those unification families with problems. Originally, I would not have been able to. Since we do not have our own nation, all kinds of problems arose among the blessed families. I must liberate them on the national level. I must liberate them so that they can go beyond the national level. We are still in a special period in which saints and evil murderers can stand side by side in the same blessing. That is why I can forgive all your wrongdoing since you received the blessing. When this period is over, I will not be able to. When we have our own nation and have set up the national constitution, if you do wrong, you will have no choice but to go to the realm of division.

The fact that you are blessed does not guarantee all of you will go to heaven. In the same way that the dawn sunlight shines through the shadow of darkness and gradually makes things visible, we should be able to see things gradually and take dominion over all things in the daylight, eventually going beyond the national level. Since we still have such a task to fulfill and we still have to grow in the spirit world, God still has to work hard to shorten the time period needed to complete this revolutionary task with True Parents’ authority. How complicated that is! That is why you should know what to do on the national level on earth. We should set up constitutional law for the heavenly world on earth. In that way we can establish the condition to perfect ourselves and be liberated on earth.

You should fulfill your responsibility while you are on earth. You rascals! You are concerned about your own property and nation. They will all be gone. If you do not unite, you will fall away. It works the same way with nations.

Today is the first day of July, Chil Il Jeol [Seven One (July 1st ) Day]. It is a day to celebrate a great victory in heaven and earth.

In his June 24, 2009 letter to leaders, International President Hyung Jin Moon explained:

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary on July 1, 2000 the name [of Chil Il Jeol] was changed to “Declaration Day of the Victory of God’s Eternal Blessing.” It marked the day True Parents could proclaim the beginning of the providence of allowing blessed families to inherit the realm of victory of True Parents who had completed their responsibility throughout both the vertical and horizontal eight stages.

Ask yourself, what kind of man or woman should I become. Do not abdicate responsibility for the whole. Take charge in order to substantiate love. Don’t be responsible just for yourself, but for the world, including your family, tribe and nation. … We should be in the position to represent God. In order to do that, we cannot be self-centered. We should abandon ourselves totally and be united with God 100 percent. When we go through puberty, we are like a bud, compared with a flower. In the future, the flower will bloom. We are like flowers that go through the stages of growth. The flower blooming is this world opening wide, filled with the fragrance of flowers. With the sunlight, water and air, we can bear beautiful fruit. That happens by the harmony of the universe. Of course, butterflies and bees will fly into us and our fragrance will fill the universe. The entire world is to be beautiful. That is how God created. When a flower is blooming, it is in the process of preparing to bear fruit in the autumn. It is waiting for the time of eventual liberation through encountering God. That is the subject.

From this perspective, are we going to be part of the royal family, or just low class? Once we go to spirit world, we cannot come back. What we are doing is not just a joke. Koreans, please raise your hands. [73 National Messiahs came.] I have to give you a tag that can be attached to you, that can show you are either a senator or king. You begin as a senator and move on to being a king. God has been sowing seeds for good fruit to be born in the providence of restoration. Do you know anyone who can be the instrument for the inheritance of seeds? That has been happening in human history. To be good seeds you have to understand God’s life and my life, and live a good life. We were born from our parents, but do we look exactly like them, or in-between, a combination?

We need to make a leap. Then we you can create something greater. Otherwise we cannot fulfill something great. We are standing on the foundation of our parents and ancestors. That is universal law. You may think you are the best, but you should not just think like that but do your best to fulfill it. We are living on the battlefield. We have to be a winner. Then, should you surpass Jesus? True Parents? Parents have a heart that their children will save someone greater than themselves. God wants you to be the best ancestor.

I have been persecuted in the fallen world for a long time. But I would like to bequeath everything to you so that you can surpass me and create better seeds than me. To be great, you must be willing to die first. Despite all the difficulties, we should be willing to go anywhere, high or low. We should be able to say we lived a life greater than even God. At least we should pursue that ideal. Then we can create a common base with God. We should think that we will take responsibility for what God could not achieve yet. That is: love.

On July 1, 2003, after the reading of True Father’s message of July 1, 1991, True Father spoke. Here are excerpts from a report of his message that day: True Father spoke as follows:

God’s love and life are connected together and the flesh and blood of the mother and the father become one and connect to God. There is no one in the fallen world who wants to be connected to God’s love, life and lineage. The people clad in white means the people who have inherited pure love, life and lineage. It centers on one of God’s main attributes, God’s true love, and this attribute is absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal. That is why God’s lineage is also absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal.

What is the most precious thing? Love and life are also important, but the true sons and daughters of a lineage formed by the union of true lives centering on true love are more important.

True Father gave a short sermon entitled “The Renewal Movement for the Peace and Unification of the First Realm of Israel is the Ideal of the Establishment of God’s Fatherland”. He especially emphasized the point that, because the second and third realms of Israel arose out of the fact that the First Realm of Israel did not fulfill its mission, even the Third Realm of Israel cannot fulfill the ideal of the establishment of God’s Fatherland unless it regenerates peace and unification of the First Realm of Israel.

Here’s a summary of the words of Rev. Chung-hwan Kwak on July 1, 2005 in Kodiak, Alaska

True Parents held the Moscow Rally in order to unify both camps of the East and West by 1990 and after that proclaimed the “True Parents.” On this foundation they declared God’s eternal blessing.

The blessing we received was the mandate to perfect ourselves, the family and our dominion over creation through the Holy Wedding. If we think about this in relation to the declaration of God’s eternal blessing, True Parents said that they would bless each church and nation, and on a global level. Since our blessing is still on the church level it does not retain eternal value.

In that light, the significance of God’s eternal blessing is

first, that God’s blessing was supposed to reside in true families and therefore, it should be fulfilled within True Parents’ family that represents a true family. Consequently, the declaration of God’s eternal blessing, which brings eternity to God’s blessing by having True Mother at True Father’s side, was made possible.

God’s eternal blessing is not realized with just the father and mother; it must also include the victorious conditions from that of true children. In other words, it means that the foundation of the victory of the true family must be connected and that the eternity of the blessing and God’s love and blessing can be connected to the future.

Second, True Mother’s position has changed; through her all the women of this world can be liberated. Through the 7.1 Jeol, the women can be liberated by uniting with True Mother. The establishment and beginning of the Women’s Federation for World Peace on April 21, 1991, is related to the significance of this holy day.

Third, with the declaration of God’s eternal blessing, God’s blessing can now be horizontally expanded without limit. True Parents went through many toils and have gone through a number of stages to reach this day, 7.1 Jeol. From God’s viewpoint, the base root of the blessing is True Parents’ family. From this family God’s eternal blessing must be declared. Only then can the vertical tradition of the blessing and its fundamental significance can be established. Only when this is established can the blessing be connected and spread out without limit from the family, to the society, nation and world. Hence, from that time on, God’s blessing ceremony has expanded to the world. Consequently, the blessing has expanded to the world to the stage of completing the 360 million couples blessing in 1999.

Then what should each couple who received the blessing feel and celebrate on 7.1 Jeol, the Declaration Day of God’s Eternal Blessing? God’s eternal blessing should not end with True Parents’ family. The blessings that each of our families received should be connected eternally to each family, tribe, nation and to the world and cosmos. What will we bequeath to our descendants? It is our mission to link and convey this blessing.

This is the sermon Dr. Kwak gave at the commemorative service for the fourteenth anniversary of Chil Il Jeol, the Declaration Day of God’s Eternal Blessing, at the headquarters church in Seoul on July 1. The content has been edited for Today’s World.

Hello, brothers and sisters! Today is the fourteenth anniversary of the True Parents of Heaven and Earth establishing and declaring Chil Il Jeol, which they did on July 1, 1991, at 7 am in the Hannam-dong International Training Center, in front of about two hundred leaders such as Korean institution and business directors, representatives of blessed families and representatives from Japan and America. He described its providential significance as being the day of the declaration of God’s eternal blessing.

God’s eternal peace kingdom is the blessed families’ homeland. If you were to read the prayer from that day, you’d see that God’s original desire was not limited to bestowing blessings on Adam and Eve. His blessing was for their descendants as well as everything that Adam and Eve were related to, but because of Satan, this was not fulfilled, so it had to be restored as something eternal. It was July 1 when Father started the course of great victory for substantially restoring people one by one through the conditions of the declaration.

True Parents visited North Korea on this foundation in the same year in order to fulfill the will substantially and negotiated with President Kim Il-sung at the risk of their lives. The previous year, they had already visited the Soviet Union, the suzerain state of communism, and put everything in order when they met President Gorbachev. Hence, they laid the condition for the fortunes of international communism to decline.

Now with all blessed families fully testifying as tribal messiahs to True Parents, Heaven allows us the grace that enables us to eternally connect with Heaven.

What we come here to commemorate is not just July 1, 1991. This point, after fourteen years, is the time for us to reflect most seriously in our hearts on what the will True Parents are administering is, what each of us and our families should do for the will, and what our movement in Korea should presently be doing.

Right now True Parents have concluded their special speaking tour in four major American cities and are moving on to Alaska. Through the special speech and hoondokhae in New York on June 25, Washington D.C. on the 26th, Chicago on the 27th, and Los Angeles on the 28th, True Parents have bestowed much grace on, and taught many things to, the religious leaders and people of America.

At that time, the True Parents gave a clear message of what they would want to convey to humankind in the present age. The title of the speech was “God’s Peace Kingdom is the Eternal Homeland of All Blessed Families.”

This speech clearly revealed that my homeland and your homeland [together make] God’s peace kingdom, the place we should be living in, and the original homeland we should be longing for and seeking to arrive in at the end.

We should deeply realize that True Parents’ speech, given in four major cities in the United States, was not only for Americans but for all humankind and especially for each and every one of our blessed families.

The title tells us that God’s eternal peace kingdom is the blessed families’ homeland. The place our blessed families should go to is God’s peace kingdom, we received blessing in the position of having to fulfill the will by setting the original homeland as our goal. Notably, the speech given in America contains Father’s repeated request that God’s will not be determined over the course of eternity but in the moment-to-moment reality of our life which unfolds before us. We are at the point where we all should deeply think about what kind of lives our blessed families are living right now. In recent years, I feel more deeply how precious the blessing we received is. We are the people who are living under the privileges and honor given by True Parents. Father and Mother transcend any nation’s structure or boundary, and have invested all their victorious foundation and love in each and every blessed family member. And they are asking all blessed members to fulfill their responsibilities.

In such times we have to clearly understand the concept of headquarters. Please keep in mind that True Parents, and the place where they are, are our headquarters; the True Family is our headquarters.

How can we create an unbreakable bond with True Parents and maintain that vital relationship? Even the hoondok message we read today said that “the most precious purpose of life, the ultimate purpose is not owning God but owning the love of God.”

Going to the seat adjacent to God, being embraced in His bosom, and being carried on His back is not everything. Even if it were, it would be useless if we could not ultimately gain the love of God. Even though God is with us right now, it is possible that He might not be with us all the time.

The principle of God’s true love Even God is living in the center of His love. That is why love is important, and you should clearly know that the Blessing Ceremony you attended, without being at all worthy, is the holy ceremony of inheriting God’s love and lineage. We received the blessing through God’s love.

Strictly speaking, we were born into Satan’s false lineage, so we cannot become God’s children. True Parents have said that they gave us the blessing conditionally, and when we fulfill our portion of responsibility, the lineage can be purified over three generations at minimum, and seven generations at maximum.

The dearest ones to God are those who embody His substance, the true children who have inherited the lineage of love. Because fallen people forsook it, however, He could not love them. Nevertheless, True Parents have taken the responsibility for conditionally removing all of our undesirable connections to Satan and have raised us to the conditional position of not having the original sin. That is the blessing, and that is why we say it is a conditional blessing.

Though it is conditional, the value of the blessing is still beyond our imagination. Children without original sin are born through the bodies of first-generation blessed couples. There are two aggravating circumstances, though, attendant with that. Firstly, the second generation children are born without original sin, whereas their parents were born with original sin but have had it pardoned through the blessing. Secondly, the worldly environment those of the second generation are born into has not been fully restored, and the sovereignty of Satan’s false love reigns. Members of the second generation from blessed families are growing up under those two difficult situations. That is why True Parents speak of restoration taking three to seven generations.

The ideal that God envisaged at the time of the Creation included each generation of children being greater and better than the last, as long as their parents lived according to the heavenly principle. That is the principle of God’s true love. The principle of true love cannot be fulfilled without an object partner, and it is a righteous desire that one’s object partner be better than oneself.

That is the essential, original nature of true love, so God created humankind, His children and the object partners of true love, to be greater than Himself. In keeping with such a heart, we all have the original nature of wanting our children to be better than ourselves. It is the heart given by God and matches the universal order. So if blessed members of the first generation abide by the heavenly way and fulfill the duties of loyalty and filial piety to true love, there is no doubt that all their descendants will be born better than they. It matches the universal order and principle for those of the second generation to be better than the first, those of the third generation to be better than the second, and those of the fourth generation to be better than the third.

What God desires are the most fundamental things. “How can the pure lineage of true love quickly thrive throughout the world?” Isn’t this God’s greatest wish? In line with the two impediments I mentioned shortly before, the first generation members received the blessing conditionally. It was as if they did not have original sin. Therefore, how can they live their lives so that they receive less accusation from Satan and move closer to God? How can a father and mother fulfill such roles? Also, we should be quickly establishing God’s peace kingdom and creating an environment in which Satan is prevented from moving. In that way, those of the second and third generations will be able to grow up in a much safer atmosphere.

Since that environment is not yet formed, however, we are appealing to our children and grandchildren not to pick up the patterns of behavior that exist outside the church. If we look a step deeper into the principle, God blessed people to have descendants that are

simultaneously God’s children as well as their own personal children, not just children exclusively their own. God allowed them to bear the children of God.

True Parents have also expressed that God is the vertical owner of true love and a parent without a physical body. Thus, He can only multiply children through people while they have physical bodies. Among all things of God’s creation, therefore, He specially blessed us by allowing us to bear the children of God.

Blessed family tradition and responsibility

God has not been waiting until now just to feel happy with His sons and daughters living on the earth. Only when they become the most perfect object partners to God on earth can they also be the perfect object partners even in Heaven. The period of such preparation is our earthly life, as was intended at the time of the Creation.

God granted people the privilege of giving birth to and raising His sons and daughters. This is the blessed family tradition. When we look at our beloved children, we should agonize over how to raise them as God’s children and bring them up accordingly. Also, those in the second generation should have the pride of being God’s sons and daughters and live pure lives. Moreover, they should maintain the lineage of true love, and expand God’s lineage. When it happens, the two aggravating circumstances mentioned will gradually disappear.

As a result of blessed families’ efforts all over the world centered on True Parents, the environment is gradually becoming closer to one of heavenly sovereignty. At last the gates to the time after the coming of heaven have opened widely. Now if, through our devotion and effort and our living with penetrating loyalty and filial heart generation after generation, we sever the ties with Satan that we have been conditionally separated from so that he cannot reattach himself, our second generation–and beyond that, our third–can be born again as children more precious to Heaven. That is God’s wish, True Parents’ wish and all our blessed families’ wish.

In such an era, True Parents have instructed all blessed families to live based on their own responsibility. The time has come when each of us is responsible for our own life, that is, for creating a hoondok family church and being a tribal messiah. “Your family is a church. Teach the heavenly way in your family, set the family tradition, and give the blessing to expand the heavenly lineage.” Isn’t that the way? Some time ago True Father said, “Let all people in Korea, whether babies or adults, drink holy wine and so give them the blessing.” What does this mean? If all people drink holy wine, the foothold of Satan disappears. Our second and third generations and our further descendants will be able to live freer and safer lives.

Are you aware, however, of the amount of responsibility you bear as one family? As many as four thousand people. This is a very big number and the activity period is short, so I have given instructions to conduct the holy wine ceremony in three ways for more effective fulfillment of the goal.

Children less than nineteen years of age can be sanctified by eating Cheon Il Guk candy, and the holy wine ceremony can be conducted until August for all the people connected through the tribal messiahs, relatives, and hoondok churches. Finally, if we supply the Happy Maeshil [plum] drink which was specially produced by Il Hwa beverage company in a nation-wide campaign, we will be able to complete the mission as True Parents instructed.

Beloved members, the success of this campaign, which will culminate at the end of August, depends on us. God’s providence can be determined by how much we invest and how hard we try.

True Parents asked us to take on the mission of tribal messiah and said that all blessed couples should save 36 couples, 72 couples, 124 couples and 430 couples. If you add all these together, it is 662 total couples. These 662 couples can be selected from the four thousand people we are each going to bless.

Is there anyone here who has blessed 662 couples and fulfilled the ideal of God’s peace kingdom? If there is, you do not have to come to church, and it does not matter if you do not participate in activities. But if you have not fulfilled this yet, it is not too late to start now. Please do your best in order to fulfill your goal.

God’s blessing is [that] eternal True Father, who has already fulfilled everything, is still standing on the front line of the providence at the advanced age of eighty-six. How can we pursue our own individual comfort, our livelihood, and our own circumstances? If we achieve everything, if we show the faith that brings comfort to True Parents, our elderly Parents will be able to rest peacefully.

Now is a time to be very busy. Husbands and wives should be united as blessed couples and raise their children and grandchildren properly in front of God’s will. Moreover, as representative of God and True Parents, they must expand and disseminate the blessing to the world. Therefore, we have entered the era of living according to the words of the Family Pledge. This nationwide holy wine ceremony campaign is also a movement to fulfill this.

Beloved members, the Chil Il Jeol we are celebrating today is a holy day for declaring that God’s blessing is eternal. Even until fourteen years ago we could not even begin to say “God’s blessing is eternal.” When something insignificant was made to be God’s own, the satanic forces interfered to tear open and attack it. Not even one thing remained on God’s side, but as a result of walking an indemnity course of bloody tears, True Father made a rocky island of life in the middle of waters like the Pacific Ocean. There, he sought out and raised True Mother.

However, the satanic forces attacked in many different ways, like crashing waves or a tsunami, and True Parents overcame and formed a rock of the true families through 36 couples, 72 couples, 124 couples, 430 couples, 777 couples, 1,800 couples, 6,000 couples, 6,500 couples, 30,000 couples, 360,000 couples, 40 million couples, 360 million couples and 400 million couples.

Until today, True Parents have been parrying the countless challenges of a billion satans. They have internally secured the position of servant of servants, servant, illegitimate son, adopted son, son and daughter, husband and wife, and parents. They have also connected that rock externally to the cosmos and extended it to the family, tribe, people, nation and world. Later, in 1990, they reached the communist bloc, restoring Gorbachev and Kim Il-sung. On such a victorious foundation, True Parents splendidly carried out the Declaration of God’s Eternal Blessing.

They have magnificently declared that “God’s blessing is eternal. True Parents are unchanging. Therefore all those who become one with True Parents and the True Family will receive eternal, unchanging blessing.”

Blessed families should realize that they are blessed families and have been found through the bone breaking suffering of True Parents. They should be walking the path of devoted sons and daughters who can liberate God and True Parents from their pain. But what are we doing right now? Aren’t we confused about front and back, left and right, inside and outside–not knowing the direction in which to go?

Brothers and sisters, the problems lie within us. True Parents have fulfilled everything. Aren’t we witnessing that? The people of the world respect True Parents and are following their teachings. Conferences are being held in Korea to educate five thousand leaders from various fields. So far, 3,400 have attended these seminars.

The Declaration of God’s Eternal Blessing that was carried out fourteen years ago is now being grafted substantially into the world. True Parents have worked so that we can fulfill everything substantially. We should now not only commemorate the declaration but fulfill the will and return joy and glory to Heaven.

July 1, 2006 The Day of God’s Eternal Blessing was the first Holy Day celebrated at the Cheon Jeong Gung Heavenly Original Palace after True Parents’ grand entrance of June 13, 2006. True Mother was away on a speaking tour “Universal Peace Federation Rally for the Restoration of Homeland.” Here’s an excerpt from True Father’s words on that day:

You must march forward in restoring your tribes and breaking through in your community for the sake of the reunification of this divided homeland.

This is the region where east and west come together. This is a region that is very special, where there is so much history, some known only by God; it is a history that has brought great grief to God. This morning Rev. Kwak read the speech from the July 1st Day, the Day of God’s Eternal Blessing. As the speech stated, Father worked to liberate God from his grief and pain and to bring God and humanity began to the original ideal. Rev. Moon released and liberated God.

God created with a heart of such expectation and joy. Through Adam and Eve God really wanted to establish the ideal. As Adam and Eve grew God’s heart was to see God’s ideal of true love, true life and true lineage fulfilled. In order for God to fulfill the ideal, he asked Adam and Eve not to eat of the fruit. They were to become the co-creators with God, but this did not happen due to the Fall of Adam and Eve. So, when the Fall occurred, what a tragedy.

Often when you try something and it does not succeed you can simply try again. With Adam and Eve however, because they are son and daughter, God could not simply start over. Therefore, even though his heart was broken with grief and disappointment, he had to continue, seeking to restore His lost children, following the principle of restoration. This untold history of God’s suffering is so painful. No one understood this tragic situation.

Then True Father came up on the stand to give a speech which went on for 2 and half hours. At the beginning of his speech he said that this day is the 18th day since June 13th Opening Ceremony of Cheon Jeong Gung Museum, and everything is coming to the end. True Father also repeated the question, “Should I rest or not?” and told the members that it is time to center all works on the blessed families.

True Father then continued emphasizing the importance of the organization of the Twelve Tribes. Also True Father shared his great love to the members referring to Shin Jun Nim, with whom he is always together.

In the address this day, True Father placed great emphasis on the blessing and that the blessing was one of the responsibilities of the children who are to become God’s prince and princess. He spoke for about fifty minutes and ended his speech saying “The liberating blessings have come to us on the occasion of Chil Il Jeol in the seventh year of Cheon Il Guk in the providential jubilee. I hope that you

all can become sons and daughters who can be grateful and bow before this blessing and that this day may be a time for making a new resolution.”

Hyung Jin Nim, in his message “Living with a Savior’s Heart” on July 5, 2008 said:

We have to know that God created us to become brave, to be strong, to be able, to be creative, to be intelligent, to have confidence in our future, to have hope in the people that we are destined to become, that person in your life that you are designed to help, that you are here to extend your savior’s heart to. That person may be your child. It may be your brother. It may be your sister. It may be your parent, your grandparent. It may be your spiritual future son or daughter. But because of you, … because of you, hundreds of people … will be able to be saved. They will be able to be freed and to become all that God has created them to become. It is so important that we understand that we have this kind of destiny. Just like True Father, that immense heroic faith that he had to muster up, the immense strength that he had to develop in order to encounter those obstacles, the same kind of spirit we have in us as well.

Practicing the heart of a savior could be something as simple as calling your parent and saying, “You know Mom and Dad, thank you. I’m just grateful. I just thought of you today. I just want to say thank you for everything. You raised me. You really gave me a lot of strength. I know we had our tough times together but really, you know what? I am really grateful that I have you in my life.” It could be something as simple as that.

It could be something as simple as writing your children a little letter, a little email, a little instant message that says, “Hey kids, I love you. You are our blessings.” Or, “You know, you’re going to make it through this day. You’re going to do a great job on that test.” It could be something so simple. When we exercise the heart of a savior, I’m not only talking about heroic, huge things, I’m talking about very small things in our lives, things that can make a difference in people’s lives, things that help people succeed more, that can give them the spirit that they will need in order to overcome those obstacles.

On April 9, 1989, [from pp. 84-85 of The Tribal Messiah HSA Publications, 1994] True Father said:

Now I have given you the name of tribal messiah. What kind of messiah? [Tribal messiah.] Tribal messiah? As that messiah, what do you have to do? I have prepared everything for you also to become a national messiah, world messiah and cosmic messiah. I have prepared measures that are as large as a mountain. If you can become a messiah, you will be able to inherit all this. It will be as if a pipe is connected to you, and like flowing water, all that treasure will be handed down to you.
