Clifton, NJ Family Church: New Council Member Nomination Form 2022

NOMINATIONS FOR NEW COUNCIL MEMBERS 2022 Four council members will be ending their terms in December including Dohi Ang, Irmgard Baynes, Doris DeSouza, and Doreen Waldman Toyoda. The council will now begin accepting nominations for new council members until Saturday, November 15th. Listed below are the duties, and eligibility requirements of council members.

Responsibilities of Council Members:

● Approve Clifton Family Church plans and budgets. ● Stewardship of Clifton Family Church assets/properties. ● Be available for Clifton Family Church Council meetings at least once per month. ● Give quarterly financial reports and an annual report to the community. ● Advise on financial decisions pertaining to paid Church staff and key personnel. ● Advise/Confirm ministry leaders in conjunction with Pastor. ● Appoint standing or ad hoc committees as needed. ● Hear concerns of church members. ● When there is a need for a new Pastor, the Church Council will search for and recommend candidate to the President or his authorized representative for approval.

● Newly elected Council members will serve for a two-year term. Nominees Requirements: A. Nominees may be self-nominated or nominated by another person (with the permission of the nominee.) B. Members who are Clifton Family Church employees and their spouses are not eligible to run for council, to avoid conflict of interest. C. Nominees must be a *member of Clifton Family Church D. 24 years or older E. Nominee has lived in the community for a minimum of 1 year.

*Member – A person who believes in True Parents, attends Sunday Worship service, tithes / donates or volunteers for (FFWPU) church activities, under True Mother’s Leadership.

Please write a brief explanation of why you want to serve on the council (maximum 200 words) including any previous experience in working in a church ministry or community service.

With your permission, we would like to have a current photo of you which could be used if you are selected as a candidate to run in the council elections. The photo would be placed in the voter’s guide which will be distributed to members during the council elections. The photo can be emailed to: cliftonfamilychurchcouncil@ googlegroups.com.

The Pastor and the Council will review the nominations. Names of candidates will be announced on Sunday, November 21st in the church bulletin and in the church E-news.
