Clifton, NJ Family Church: Pastor Letter, Morning Devotion, HPHC Orientation

I hope this letter finds you and your family healthy and full of love. It was wonderful to see so many of you at our Outdoor Gathering this past Saturday. Thank you for joining in the fellowship, worship and connection with God and each other.

This week’s theme of our new Regional President, Dr. Yong’s Morning Devotions has been on the attributes of love. One of the attributes he described was our True Parents’ description of true love as giving and forgetting that you have given. Giving without thinking about what you will get in return. I find this concept so helpful to practice in my day to day life in relationship with my family members and friends. It’s a good challenge, that is helping me to put more of God’s love into action. I hope this is something that we can all work on, and get better and better at, so we can become more loving as a community of brothers and sisters.

We are blessed to now have Dr. Yong with us leading America. Through his Morning Devotions I believe Dr. Yong is connecting us to the heart of our True Parents, and guiding us to remember the fundamental principles of our faith and put them into practice. I want to encourage everyone to participate in this 40 day period of devotion as much as you can, and use it as a time of spiritual renewal and strengthening.

If you can’t make the devotions at 6am, or missed any of the past episodes, you can always access the recordings later on the FamilyFed website.

This Saturday morning we will be welcoming the newest members of our community to participate in the HPHC Orientation, many of them having recently connected with us through CARP. Would love to have some of our long time members there to greet them and engage them in discussions. So, please join if you can.

Clifton Family Church Now Accepting Nominations

The Clifton Family Church Council is accepting nominations for new council members. Here is a link to the nomination form and the duties and eligibility requirements of council members. Please note that while we look forward to having members from all backgrounds participate in the council, we are especially in need of those who are good with financial and building matters (such as repair and maintenance).

Applications forms can be emailed to cliftonfamilychurchcouncil@googlegroups.com.

Nominations are due Sunday, November 8th. Names of candidates will be announced in the District 3 Community Gathering and in the church E-news the following week.
