It’s official, I'm employed as a resident chaplain

It’s official. I’m an employee at Bridgeport Hospital, and here’s the badge I get to wear. For the next 9 months I’ll be a resident chaplain, which means I’m still in training. I love visiting patients, and bringing them a listening and discerning ear. I have a lot of freedom, which I love too, and can spend as much time with a patient as necessary.
Today I visited a Korean woman and her husband who didn’t speak much English. The nurse wasn’t expecting me to be able to communicate with them, but speaking Korean came back to me. I got a big thumbs up from the patient, and a bow from her husband, and I left feeling pretty good.
Every day something interesting happens! I love it! Finally where I want to be.
