Birmingham Community. Marriage, Family and Blessing. A visit from our Blessed Family and Education Departments. March 2018.

We recently had the privilege and pleasure of a visit to our Birmingham/Midlands community from Susan Crosthwaite, Keiko Brouard and William Haines. As you will know, they have been devoting a lot of their time and energy in visiting our UK communities, on top of all the other things they are doing, to support and encourage us in maintaining and developing healthy family relationships, which can hopefully be a springboard for us to make a valuable contribution to the wider society.

With Susan and Keiko spending 4 days with us, we took the opportunity to invite a number of close friends for two of the talks given - ‘The Heart Power Programme’ and ‘Reframing our Lives, and Healing the Family’. On the Friday evening, 15 guests joined with a number of our FFWPU members to hear Susan’s two 45 minute presentations on heart-power, basically asking the question ‘How can I be a source of happiness for my spouse?’

Then, on the Saturday afternoon, 23 of our friends and a similar number of brothers and sisters took part in the interactive talk and healing session, which Susan has spent a lot of time developing in recent years, focusing on ‘myself’ rather than ‘the other’. Several people willingly, and movingly, volunteered to role play in looking at the Healthy Self, the Traumatised Self and the Survival Self, and making it a very valuable and meaningful experience for everyone present.

The whole of Sunday, a Blessing Information Day, consisted of talks for our family members on different aspects of relationships within the Blessed Couple and Blessed Family from William and Susan, husband-wife, parents-children, etc, and we watched a very helpful video-discussion between Tim and Samuel Read. Keiko spoke well about Matching Support, and in the afternoon an excellent video was shown with Debbie Gullery (USA) speaking about the harsh reality of ‘Living in a Pornified Culture’.

The final session was an open discussion and question and answer, with Susan, William and Keiko, bringing things to a productive conclusion. We also took the opportunity to celebrate William’s recent ?th birthday, happily to his surprise! We would like to thank each one of them for their consistent effort and heart towards all of our UK members.
