Tongil Group (a.k.a. Tongil Foundation; Unification Foundation) in Korea, which is the governing body of multiple church-affiliated businesses in Asia, has been sending out regular newsletters with information about True Parents’ activities, the work of Tongil Group executives (such as Mr. Kook Jin Moon), and media coverage of our movement. Since August 1, 2011, English versions of the newsletters have been provided.
In the most recent newsletter, Tongil Group shows photos of True Parents at the Incheon airport (Korean Airlines lounge), at Dumulmori (a scenic spot at the meeting point of the Bukhan River and the Namhan River), at the birthplace of Yang Yong Jeong (a famous Korean [Joseon dynasty] Shilhak philosopher and early convert to Roman Catholicism), at Ipobo (a modernesque bridge spanning the Namhan River), and at the Cheon Jeong Gung (Palace of Heavenly Righteousness in Cheong Pyeong – the palace on the hill near the training center) during Hoon Dok Hwe. In the same newsletter is an article about Mr. Kook Jin Moon’s visit to Eunpyeong Church in the North Gangwon region (the Gangwon region borders the eastern portion of the DMZ line) where he gave his “Strong Korea” presentation. Other news articles are included, including stories about True Father’s visit to North Korea twenty years ago, Rev. Hyung Jin Moon’s recent visit to North Korea, and a performance by the Little Angels Children’s Folk Ballet in India.
In the newsletter published on November 18th, Tongil Group reported about Father’s words at Hoon Dok Hwe on November 12th:
“You have come here looking like beggars, but the hoondok readings, textbooks and teaching materials are not based on your standard. To have confidence in them, you need to adjust yourselves to fit my standard instead. Even yesterday, I spoke all day long about the hoondok reading to you. Why did I do that? You may have wondered, ‘Why is he talking
about the past, when I wasn’t even in the church? It was twenty or thirty years ago. And some of what he is speaking about I have known from even before I got married.’
“Why am I talking about things that happened in the past? Isn’t that what you’re wondering? It is my task to restore through indemnity everything that happened in the past, and to repeat them over again. I have had to repeat them more than two or three times. Even after ten years, I have had to repeat some of them even ten times or more. Yet, here you are, wondering to yourselves why I am repeating what I said before just once. Aren’t you? That is why, rather than growing closer to me, you drift farther and farther away from me. Satan knows about the erroneous direction you are following and is using it; yet, you don’t even know that he is using you. Do you?
“There are things that you will not understand even after ten readings, and yet you act as if you know everything after reading them only twice or three times. So what can I do when I am addressing you? I can’t address you. I can’t address you at all. That is why I need to be strict. You may say that I am very strict, very strict even to my followers. You are in the position of my sons and daughters, so how much stricter would I be to you? I am different from you. (Pointing at the textbooks and teaching materials) I know everything about the deep subject matter in these books, which is why my viewpoint is based on providential history. Do you understand? What I am saying is important.”
The November 18th newsletter also includes photographs of True Parents’ November 14th visit to Naksansa (a Buddhist temple at Obong Mountain in Gangwon Province, first built in 671 AD) and Gyeongpodae (a lookout station in Gangreung, Gangwon Province, said to have been built in the 16th century by Yi I, one of the two most prominent Korean Confucian scholars of the Joseon dynasty). More of the Tongil Group chairman’s speaking engagements are covered, and news from South America and Oceania are also included.
