Happy Anniversary 1800 Couples!

Today is a wonderful and historic day in that it is the 37th anniversary of the 1800 Couples Blessing.

On behalf of our True Parents, our senior pastor, Rev. In Jin Moon and all blessed families in America, we congratulate all the 1800 Couples and wish you a huge, “Happy Anniversary!”

We honor you and thank you for being incredible pioneers of our faith and for standing strong for our True Parents these many years. Your lives continue to be living testimonies which will be eternally remembered. Many of you are grandparents now and we thank you for raising beautiful families.

The 1800 Couples Blessing was held on February 8, 1975 at the Chunju Gymnasium in Seoul, Korea. Although it was a bitterly cold day, the couples were warmed in their hearts by the incredible love of God and True Parents.

On February 9, Father spoke to the newly blessed couples at Seo Tak Ri Training Center:

“You must realize that you are the most blessed couples in the world. Now you are the ones whom God can trust. You are the ones to whom he can give the greatest missions. Why do you come to Korea to be blessed? It is our homeland. Also, to shock American people. Some people must think Reverend Moon is a great man. People never saw such a thing. How, they think, can Rev. Moon control 150 people? They think he will revolutionize the whole world, including their daughters and sons. Then they will watch: will this matrimony be successful in the future or not? If you are a success you will revolutionize the whole world. So 155 people from the U.S. will be the new ancestors of the world to come.”

True Mother was pregnant with Kwon Jin Nim at the time. It was a very volatile and unstable time in the world, as communism was at its peak.

True Father spoke about the 1800 Couples Blessing:

“Six is Satan’s last number, and 600 times 3 is 1800. You have heard the prophecy about the number 666 in Revelations, so this blessing marks the end of Satan’s dominion of that number. After the blessing, the IOWC was mobilized, gathering members from around the world to come to Japan and Korea and prepare the ground for the June 7 Rally for Korean Freedom. In that way we accomplished victory over Korea, with representatives from over 60 nations coming to the June 7 Rally.

The 1800 couples blessing marked the completion of the blessing providence and now I can bless people anywhere and under any circumstances. Satan’s accusation is completely removed from the blessing, no matter where or when it may be given in the future. All the past rejection and opposition to group marriage is subsiding and no nation can oppose this activity again. In this way a new race has appeared. Without restoration of the family unit the world cannot be restored. That’s why I struggled so much to set up the condition for restoring the family unit. You have to restore the family in our movement, representing not only your family but the nation and the whole world.”
