Urgent: National Workshop in New York this weekend

Good morning. Thank you for a great and historic weekend. In Jin Nim has approved the plan to hold the national workshop entitled, “Let’s Inherit True Parents’ Life and Teachings,” here in New York this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Although it is short notice, we want to go ahead and fulfil this direction coming from International Headquarters right away. Please download and read the document below, which explains the purpose and direction about this workshop from our International President’s point of view. America was asked to bring 300 leaders and members to the initial workshop and then the church leadership is being asked to hold this education for all of the members in America.

The content of this workshop is very important and Hyung Jin Nim and Kook Jin Nim have referred to it as “True Parents’ Liberation Project.” Under the instructions of the International President and Foundation Chairman, World Mission Headquarters has begun a series of education programs for the regions, its leaders and members, presenting True Parents’ life course and contents that will liberate True Parents from the hitherto malicious rumours and gossip. Rev. Jin Hun Yong (Director of Education Department, World Mission Headquarters) has given these lectures on several occasions: to the leaders in Asia, to the leaders in Europe, to national leaders at the National Leaders Assembly, to leaders and pastors of Korea and more recently to leaders and members in Oceania.

It is mandatory for all District Pastors to attend this workshop. Again, we understand the difficulty of coming into New York two weekends in a row. You can arrive Wednesday night and stay again at 43rd Street. The schedule is full days on Thursday and Friday (5:00 AM - 10:00 PM) and half day on Saturday. You can depart Saturday late afternoon and be back for the Launch Sunday service this Sunday.

State Pastors should be contacted immediately and given the opportunity to come as well. We highly recommend that as many of them as are able attend. In addition, we are inviting organizational leaders from ACLC, WFWP, UPF and CARP, as well as Headquarters staff and leadership. Members in the area around New York may also attend. We expect about 100 participants to come. The workshop will be held at 43rd Street.

As far as a workshop fee, we will try to keep it to a minimum. There will be a $20 fee for the workshop manual and most likely a nominal charge for meals during the days. We will get that information out to you today.

Plan to Carry Out the Project to Liberate True Parents 1. Background

The reasons that this education is needed: 1) Recover the image of the Unification Church and of True Parents, which have been damaged due to rumors and misunderstandings about True Parents. Tell about True Parents’ true victory. 2) There is need for education of leaders and members since the main core of lectures by those opposing our church and kidnapping members in Japan is about True Parents’ scandals including the Six Marys. 3) Even in our church, 2nd generation have incorrect information and a wrong understanding about the Six Marys from reading Chung Hwa Park’s book about the history of the Unification Church. 4) In our judgment, there is a high possibility that the UCI group and other factions may misuse this content to attack True Parents.

Moreover, this education is not just to resolve a problem but to clearly tell what kind of people True Parents are, what kind of victories they have had, what kind of absolute faith we should have in True Parents in this age, how great the Blessing given by True Parents is, why we need to proclaim True Parents as the Savior of Humanity, the Messiah, the Returning Lord and the King of Kings, witness and carry out Blessing activities. We are trying to make a turning point in the building of Cheon Il Guk by January 13, 2013.

3. Intents and Purposes

A. Educate about True Parents’ path as Messiah, Savior and King of Kings and their victorious salvation of humanity.

B. Proclaim and reveal, from a Principled and theological point of view: the necessary process to save humanity, lineage restoration performed through indemnity conditions, and the providence of restoration which cannot be understood by fallen people.

C. Help Christianity, other religions and the world at large to understand True Parents’ footsteps as the Messiah and correct the lack of understanding about lineage restoration and the incorrect views that led to the heresy dispute.

4. Target Participants and Schedule

C. Dates and Target Participants: st ‐ 1 : Pastors and leaders in the Asia Continent: 182 people in 14 nations Education Completed January 17~20, 2011 – a period of 3 nights and 4 days

‐ 2nd: Continental directors (regional presidents), national leaders and other leaders from around the world: 220 people from 107 nations Education Completed February 6, 2011, educated with the True God’s Day event as the starting point

‐ 3rd: Pastors and leaders in the European Continent: 250 people altogether Education Completed

February 22‐27, 2011 in Prague, Czech Republic

‐ 4th: Pastors and leaders in the Korean Church, Cheon Bok Gung and World Mission Headquarters staff: 370 people March 8~10, 2011 at the Cheon Bok Gung

‐ 5th: Leaders in the Oceania Continent: around 73 people March 19~20, 2011, Sydney

‐ 6th: Pastors and leaders in the American Church: to be carried out during the month of March

‐ 7th: Pastors and leaders in the Japan Church: to be carried out during the month of April

5. Educational Method and Venue

Overview: On the foundation of having educated based on facts about the UCI problem to some degree through Rev. Jin Hwa Chung and other lecturers, with the education focusing on resolving the problem. Considering the education that has taken place so far to be the first stage, now in the second stage, fundamental education about the identity of Unification Church members is needed. In other words, as leaders of Cheon Il Guk, leaders should understand the current situation of God’s Providence and have a clear sense of mission about where we need to go from here. For this purpose, it is effective to carry out education side by side with methods of cultural grafting that our International President and Foundation Chairman have lead so far. In other words, though the period of two nights and three days is short, if we graft the culture of early morning devotion, the Holy Spirit Healing Service and tai chi onto the lecture content, then it will become a basis for the culture of heart and it will allow leaders to gain firm conviction and determination. (This was checked during the Philippines education in the Asia Continent)

A. First educate core leaders from around the world and then gradually those leaders should educate members around the world.

B. The order of education will be as follows: Korea, America, Japan, Europe, then other continents.

Target Number of Education Attendees for the First Series of [Workshops]: 2,100 Leaders ‐ Korea: Pastors, Church HQ staff, Cheon Bok Gung staff, staff at providential organizations, a total of around 400 people ‐ America: Leaders and middle‐tier leaders, 300 people ‐ Japan: Leaders, women leaders, educators (managers of video centers), 700 people ‐ Asia: 182 people ‐ Europe: 250 people ‐ Other: around 200 leaders and educators

9. Program Program Content

• The host nation should plan for a workshop at least two nights and three days long. The schedule may be extended if the host nation wishes to add educational content to it. • Each lecture will be 90 minutes long. Questions will be received on small notepaper after the lecture and answers will be given in summary form. • The host nation should prepare an MC for the main programs. • The host nation should make a note of total attendance and such, ask all participants to write reflections, organize the feedback and convey it to the World Mission Headquarters.

10. Workshop fee and budget proposal:

1) The cost of the workshop should be basically covered by collecting workshop fees.

2) The host nation may extend the workshop period to more than two nights and three days.

3) Cost of rooms and food should be covered by the host nation.
