Las Vegas Family Church's True Children's Day Celebration at Cheon Hwa Gung

It was a brisk and sunny day when the Las Vegas Family Community gathered for the 59th True Children’s Day and the 31st Foundation Day for the Unified Nation of Heaven and Earth Celebration. A small group of our youth and first generation adults met on a weekday morning Thursday in the Cheon Hwa Gung parlor to enjoy our traditional True Children’s Day program. The lavish Holy Table and spectacular bouquet of Autumn flowers created a heavenly atmosphere in this special room where True Father spoke so many times during the final four years of his life. It is always moving to be in this room and this was no exception!

The celebration began with the lighting of the Holy Candles by Rev. and Mrs. Doo.

After lighting, the Cheon Il Guk National Anthem and our Gyung-bea and Pledge were offered, and a sincere prayer was given by Mrs. Sera Hirano. And Rev. Doo invited 2nd Gen. to cut the cake. The Celebration cake was joyfully cut by eleven of our youth.

Then a selection of True Father’s words about the value, meaning and purpose of Children’s Day followed. The passages were lovingly and perfectly read by our beloved Second-Generation sister, Kaylee Teo. The reading expressed that Children’s Day, although it takes place chronologically after Parent’s Day, should actually be thought of as first because Adam and Eve, as God’s Children, needed to be restored before they could become parents. Children’s Day is thus the celebration of this restoration.

At this point Rev Doo introduced and showed a video about True Father’s life which had been prepared for his Seong Hwa in 2012. Rev Doo shared that he was showing this video because of its content---that it gave a clear idea of all that True Parent’s had gone through in order to create True Children’s Day.

After the video, which was short and very well done, Rev Doo offered a further explanation about Children’s Day and True Father’s suffering course. He told some stories about True Father’s tortures in the prison camp which had learned from one of the 36 Couples, our elder brother Rev. Yo-Han Lee which brought many to tears.. True Father’s survival through the series of seven tortures that he endured, made it absolutely clear that True Father truly is the Messiah!

The program ended with Ok Mansei led by CSN CARP President, C. Kateyama.
