Compton Scholarship Fund

As you all probably know by now, Rev. [Andrew] and Mrs. [Lydia] Compton will be leaving soon and this Sunday will be the last time he will be the speaker at our Sunday service. We have prepared a special service with some surprises to give to the Comptons.

After much discussion, the Westrock Council has decided to create a scholarship fund in the Compton’s name to honor their long time service as both our pastor and the director of Divine Principle Education in the New York area.

Recognizing that this is the great passion of his life, we are going to invest a minimum of $5000 that will provide at least $500 per year in scholarship money for a promising student who wishes to join a Divine Principle seminar. This may be used to support a student attending Rev Compton’s own Divine Principle seminars at the IPEC in Las Vegas.

We are inviting all Westrock members to make an offering to this fund if they wish to show their appreciation to Rev. and Mrs. Compton. The time for this will last two weeks from this Sunday. By July 19th, 2015, the Westrock Council will contribute the remainder to fulfill the $5000 goal. Anyone can make a contribution by sending a check to “HSA-UWC Westchester” with Compton Scholarship Fund in the memo field.

This will also be announced and presented to the congregation at Sunday Service tomorrow.
