Pastor’s Weekly Greeting Dear Brothers & Sisters, Greetings! For me, the big inspiration of the past week was to be a part of the Blessing ceremony that was held at Belvedere. Many brothers and sisters gave their support to make it happen – ACLC, Kodan, decorators, registration and ushering volunteers, and most importantly the couple that was Blessed; Alberto and Andrea Urrutia and the Okamoto family who invested so much for their spiritual lives.

In addition I was inspired by Kester Wilkening who gave the Sunday sermon at Belvedere “Prioritizing True Love.” It is so hopeful and uplifting to see young speakers who have the confidence to present both inspirational and practical guidance based on the Divine Principle.

Finally, since this is my last news letter, I just want to thank you again for giving me the opportunity to serve as pastor – in WestRock, and as District Pastor in New York. I pray that you will continue to challenge yourselves for the sake of our Heavenly Parent, for True Parents and for all the people and things that we love and hold dear.

Let’s make the future bright for this nation America!

Blessing & Family Ministry Corner The month of June ended with a bang with a Blessing and a workshop! Thanks to all the many volunteers who helped to celebrate the Holy Marriage Blessing of Alberto and Andrea Urrutia here at Belvedere. Over 60 people, including family friends and members of our congregation attended the joyous event on Saturday, June 27th. The room was beautifully decorated, the luncheon was delicious and the entertainment was wonderful. We welcome Alberto and Andrea into our WestRock community of Blessed couples! Also a big thanks to the volunteers who helped to organize the Level 1 Blessing workshop that was held at White House last week. The two-day workshop gave good guidance about preparing for marriage and utilizing the ‘single’ years to mature and grow. Support came from a wonderful testimony by a young Blessed couple, and several BCs who staffed and coordinated the event, including Kent Hoffman and Jessica Sattinger.

UPCOMING EVENTS: Level 2 Blessing Workshop • NY • Aug. 9–11 Want to learn more about the Matching process and how to prepare for marriage? A Preparing for Marriage: Level 2 Blessing Workshop is coming up at UTS on August 9-11, 2015, right after the Blessed Culture & Sports Festival (BCSF)! This program is intended for all Unification-born young adults 18+ and Unificationists of at least one year who are thinking about the Matching process. The workshop is required in order to become a Matching candidate and attend the Marriage Blessing Ceremony.

The program will begin at UTS on Sunday, August 9. Registration will begin at 4:30 PM, dinner will be at 6:00 PM, and the official program will begin at 7:00 PM. The program will conclude at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 11.

Getting Back on Track Retreat – NY Area - July 31, 2015 – August 2 The Getting Back on Track retreat is about forgiveness and renewal, and is specifically designed for BC’s who have had a sexual relationship outside of the Blessing but want to consider a path toward the Blessing. This retreat is a wonderful opportunity for those who are looking for a way to reconnect and find healing. Participants will be able to connect and share with others who have had similar experiences, challenges, and insights. Parents are welcome to attend with their young adult child, or on their own to see for themselves what the program is all about. Contact Debby Gullery more information or go to bfm.familyfed.org.

Humor for the Week New Car Features We were driving in my friend’s new car. I asked him about its features.

He listed the usual, then added, “It tells me to slow down as I approach the speed limit. It warns me when I have to stop. It points out solid no-passing lines.”

I expressed my amazement.

“But,” he explained, “these features only work when my wife is in the car.”
