 Kim Berry, our beloved sister in Red Hook, passed away on Tuesday, Feb 10. She has been fighting cancer for years. Watch your emails for the Seong Hwa announcement.

Pastor’s Weekly Greeting Dear Brothers & Sisters,

I was especially inspired to see the weekly update from Dr Balcomb this week (Feb 6). Dr Kim shares and there are some inspiring testimonies from witnessing in Hawaii.

I am really grateful to True Mother for encouraging us to witness. Whenever I go witnessing or when I teach the Divine Principle, I always experience a sense of closeness with our Heavenly Parent.

On Saturday, Feb 7, the NY District Council, (local pastors and representatives of the local councils from throughout the NY District), came together for a meeting. It was good to see everyone. Sadly, Rev Esteban Galvan could not make it. He is in the hospital receiving treatment for a rare virus. (The good news is that they finally discovered what it was – and are now giving him the correct treatment. I had the chance to visit him and he should be home in a few days).

At the council meeting several points were presented–

 The re-start of the Brooklyn church (with Pastor Daryl Clarke), and the Harlem Church (with Pastor Juanita Pierre-Louis and her husband Edner).

 Tribal Messiahship: I encouraged all leaders and members to make a list of family, friends, and contacts – and to organize them in a binder BEFORE HEAVENLY PARENTS DAY, MARCH 3. and to reach out to at least 3 of them in a meaningful way.  The Holy Days are coming soon: Heavenly Parents Day (Feb 19) and TP birthday (Feb 24), Foundation Day and the Blessing on March 2 (March 3 in Korea). Each local church should prepare.  The local Blessing will take place at 43rd street – to attend that you need an invitation.  Noah Ross, our representative on the National FFWPU Council gave a brief report.  Noah is also on the Camp Sunrise board and gave a report from their recent meetings. Things are looking good for Camp Sunrise this year! Be sure to plan on sending your kids!  There will be a Dinner/Dance fund-raiser for our Youth Ministry on March 14. The money raised will help kids who can’t afford it to attend Camp Sunrise this summer. )Please safe the date.  Chad Hoover (on the UTS Board) gave a report on the situation with UTS in Barrytown and the Barrytown College: Dr Spurgin is the new president. A lot of financial issues need to be worked out. Let’s pray that their efforts will be successful.  Dorit Smith is resigning from her position as community leader in Orange County. I learned that they have sold the Horse Farm and she may be moving to Pennsylvania.

Finally, as Cheon Il Guk has begun, let’s keep a united spirit with our True Father and True Mother, whose victory established the eternal position of True Parents. Let’s rejoice in the Blessing they have given us which entitles us to call God our Heavenly Parent. And, let’s live our lives as is befitting the true children of our Heavenly Parent and work together to expand Cheon Il Guk.

 Nari Miller successfully received her first infusions of chemotherapy and immunotherapy! She is fighting stage 4 terminal breast cancer. Please pray for her strength and health. She has 2 young children and is now living in Princeton, NJ. Her chemo treatment began Monday, Jan19. Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/supportfornarihanmiller/ has more information.

 Jiau-Lan Weinstein – is fighting Lung Cancer. Her condition has grown worse. Ken Weinstein would like to send his daughter to visit her mother in Taiwan. If you would like to donate to help, he has a go-fund me account on his Facebook page.
