The Sermon this Week This week, at Belvedere, Justin Okamoto gave an excellent sermon on “bold leadership.” If you missed the sermon you can watch it at this link: http://vimeo.com/110902189

Pastor’s Weekly Greeting Dear Brothers & Sisters,

Happy November! I pray that you are enjoying the incredible colors that God has painted for us. It is amazing!

Please take a look at Justin’s sermon on leadership (the link is posted above), and consider, if you have kids who don’t go to church (who are in high school, or college age, or young adults), to send them a link and invite them to take a look.

We can all be leaders in our own lives, because every day we have the opportunity to be bold. We can be bold in our prayer (do something different such as – get up extra early and go pray on the beach for an hour), we can be bold in our relationships (write your spouse a love letter or a letter of appreciation), we can be bold in our faith community (visit a brother and sister you have not spent time with or approach your pastor and ask what you can do to make a difference), and we can be bold in the greater community (tell your neighbor about the most precious relationship of all – our

relationship with God who is our Heavenly Parent).

Here is a quote from True Mother that I found inspiring:

We must confidently testify to the world that True Parents have come. You must help people become aware of True Parents’ achievements and of how great they are. Do not be afraid. Whatever you do In the name of True Parents the entire physical and spiritual realm will be with you.

Let’s make this week special!

God Bless You and your Family, Andrew Compton

Light Thought for the Day:

A married couple was vacationing in Yosemite. The wife expressed her concern about camping because of bears and said she would feel more comfortable in the hotel. The husband said that he’d like to camp.

To calm her concerns, he suggested they talk to the park ranger to see what the likelihood of a bear encounter would be.

The ranger told them, “Well, we haven’t seen any grizzlies in this area so far this year, or black bears, for that matter.

“The wife shrieked, “There are TWO types of bears out here? How can you tell the difference? Which one is more dangerous?”

The ranger replied, “Well, that’s easy — see, if the bear chases you up a tree and it comes up after you, it’s a Black Bear. If it shakes the tree until you fall out, it’s a Grizzly.”

The hotel room was quite nice.
