Pastor’s Weekly Greeting Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This Sunday I was able to visit our Bronx Family where they held their monthly Family Fiesta. I was most impressed by the warmth and spirit of the members. After Rev Galvan’s sermon (which he keeps very short and to the point – this Sunday he spoke about how our home will be a happy home if True Parents are there) they held a DP study. This time – one of the children, just 11 years old, who, after reading True Father’s autobiography twice, gave an incredible power point presentation which he created himself.

We may be small in numbers, but as long as our hearts are true and connected to our True Parents, that is okay. The biggest tree must begin from a small seed. So, let’s make sure we are each a true seed – inheriting the heart, the will, and the directions of our True Parents.

Good news! On Sept 30, Larry & Valentina (formerly Iparraguirre) Beneloga gave birth to a healthy boy, Ivan Frances Beneloga, (7 lbs, 6 oz.) Mother, father & baby are all fine and happy.

Parents Matching Convocation • Oct. 24~26 • UTS

 There will be a National Parents Matching Convocation (PMC) at UTS, New York on October 24~26. The PMC is a great opportunity for parents to understand the Matching Process, learn from those who have matched their children successfully, network with other parents, and consider possible matching candidates. All parents of teenagers 17 and older should try to attend to familiarize and educate themselves about the process and their role and begin developing a family plan for matching their children.  Registration – Save Money by Registering Early! To encourage prompt registration and facilitate planning and organization, participants can save money by registering early. You can pay directly online by credit card:  EARLY BIRD Pay by October 10th: $120/individual; $200/couple; $80 for each additional family member  Pay after October 10th: $150/individual; $240/couple; $90 for each additional family member

 Moses Kiely – 3 years old, grandson of Michael and Maria Kiely, diagnosed with leukemia AND now his daughter Inmay is dealing with a serious heart condition. She was just released from a hospital in Boston and is doing better. Thank you for your prayers..

 Shokichi Tamura is still in Phelps Hospital. He continues to fight a serious bacterial infection.

Conversation with a Teenager My 15-year-old son asked me to drive him to his friend’s house. Once we were in the car and several minutes had passed in silence, I attempted to open the lines of communication.

“Did you have a nice day at school?”

“Any homework to do?”

“You got your hair cut”

“This is a monosyllabic conversation isn’t it?”

“You do know what monosyllabic means?”

“Well, tell me.” Aha, I thought, now he has to give me a dictionary explanation.

With a mischievous grin and a sly look at me, he replied, “One.”
