IN NY District: We are conducting a series of local God’s Hope for America Rallies throughout the NY District.

This past week we had a great turnout in Manhattan,(please see the testimony below).

AND IN WESTROCK: Divine Principle 1-Day workshop: Saturday, Oct. 4 at the White House, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm Divine Principle Study & Discussion: Mondays, 7:30 - 8:30pm at the White House.

The Sermon this Week This week, at Belvedere, we held a special service. Members divided into 10 smaller groups to share testimonies, read Hoondokae, and share in discussion.

Pastor’s Weekly Greeting Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Happy October!

This past Sunday we conducted a different kind of service in WestRock. The service focused on members’ participation, through discussion and testimonies (we divided into 10 smaller groups to make this possible). As you may know, our long term goal is to create healthy communities of faith, based on our blessed central families, our relatives, and friends and neighbors (what True Father refers to as “Tribal Messiahship”). I want to encourage us to consider how we can create Sunday meetings that help promote this vision.

Here is a quote from True Father:

Cheon Seong Gyeong Pg. 582, #35 Tribes will emerge centered upon blessed families, so please accomplish your mission as tribal messiahs. In the future we will establish churches around the leaders of tribes. All blessed families are leaders of tribes. In the future, the Unification Church will not have services based on sermons; they will be based on testimony. We will focus on testimonies that can bring honor and pride to our families. Thus, all family members will participate in such services together. We will learn from the testimonies of exemplary families. Families with less to report will receive guidance. In

this way we will be able to build the kingdom of heaven in our families. Unless we do so, the kingdom of heaven will not be realized on earth.

Let’s be creative – and look for better ways by which members can feel love from each other, learn from each other, inspire each other, and hold one another accountable. (We may find that there are better ways than listening to a sermon every week). If we are more successful in this area – our Sunday meetings will become our greatest tool in our efforts to witness to others.

Parents Matching Convocation • Oct. 24~26 • UTS

 There will be a National Parents Matching Convocation (PMC) at UTS, New York on October 24~26. The PMC is a great opportunity for parents to understand the Matching Process, learn from those who have matched their children successfully, network with other parents, and consider possible matching candidates. All parents of teenagers 17 and older should try to attend to familiarize and educate themselves about the process and their role and begin developing a family plan for matching their children.  Registration – Save Money by Registering Early! To encourage prompt registration and facilitate planning and organization, participants can save money by registering early. You can pay directly online by credit card:  EARLY BIRD Pay by October 10th: $120/individual; $200/couple; $80 for each additional family member  Pay after October 10th: $150/individual; $240/couple; $90 for each additional family member

National Marriage Enrichment Webinar Thursday, Sept. 25 • 9pm (EST)

 This month’s Marriage Enrichment Webinar will be presented by Debby Gullery on the topic “Marriage as a Spiritual Practice”, and will discuss a practical approach to spiritual growth within marriage. Debby is an experienced Relationship Coach and educator for marriage and family relationships.

Level 2 Blessing Workshop: October 3-5, UTS. Mandatory for anyone desiring to become a matching candidate and enter into the matching process.

Four Part Parenting Series:

 Parenting Your Young Adult Child / October 27, 7-9 pm

The next two programs in the series will be held in November for members only and will focus on preparing for and navigating through, the matching process.

 Moses Kiely – 3 years old, grandson of Michael and Maria Kiely, diagnosed with leukemia AND now his daughter Inmay is dealing with a serious heart condition. She was just released from a hospital in Boston and is doing better. Thank you for your prayers..

Testimonies/Reports Report on Manhattan God’s Hope for America Rally, Sat. Sept 27

At 12:30 p.m., we gathered at 43rd. Street, where we gave out poster board banners, flyers, song sheets, and encouragement. We then walked to 42nd. Street, near 6th. Ave, where we gathered together and began to sing, with two guitars, played by Rev. Compton and Pastor John Arias, along with a tambourine that Christina Kartel played. Rev. Compton had brought two large standing banners, that had ‘God’s Hope for America’ on them. Mrs. Compton took pictures of the whole days event.

There were about 60 members who gathered to pass out papers and witness and also give out invitations to attend a luncheon back at 43rd. Street, from 2:00 to 4:00. There were members from every borough. Wilson Ferriero gave a testimony, Rev. Galvan from the Bronx spoke, and Rev. Kung from Queens spoke. Rev. Green read a passage from the book, ‘God’s Hope for America.’ I was the MC, and Rev. Compton was the force and strength of the day.

After the program, members continued to pass out papers on the street and in Bryant Park.

At 2:00 p.m., we went back to 43rd. Street, where a luncheon was prepared by the sisters. Outside of the building, there was a table set up with books and material for witnessing. Several members returned with guests. We had 7 guests return to the luncheon and a program was given by Rev. Compton, where he spoke about Rev. Moon getting a vision to create the movement and how many had joined. He also asked for each table and group of people to discuss what they liked about America.

The day was perfect. The program and results were enthusiastic. Rev. Compton did a great job and I am so thankful for this opportunity to be involved with the Rally’s. Please see the attached pictures.

Duplicate Gift One week before Christmas, my wife and I discovered we’d each bought the same gift for each other: The Beatles’ Number One CD.

My wife suggested I return mine, but I suggested whoever paid the most for theirs should be the one to deal with the return.

After she told me that she had paid $18.99, I said, “Well I paid only $16.99 so I guess you’ll have to return yours.”

“How could you get me such a cheap gift?” she asked indignantly.

Every voting UC member in New York needs to know the facts about Common Coreand why many states are repealing it. Come hear a history and

summaryof the issue and a short video from a school administrator. Donna has been teaching in the high school and speaking to teachers, parents, administrators and many other New Yorkers. Prayer  Members are invited to come for prayer – On Tuesdays, 7 am, at the Central Park Holy Ground (call Rev Compton if you want a ride)  Laura Nabetani – is now in the White Plains Hospital  Jiau-Lan Weinstein – is in Taiwan, her cancer has grown worse  Michael and Maria’s grandson, Moses Kiely, is fighting leukemia and Inmay, their eldest daughter is in a Boston hospital with a serious heart condition.  Shokichi Tamura: is in Phelps Hospital with a bacterial infection. You can now visit him, he is out of the Critical Care Unit.
