IN NY District: We are planning a series of local God’s Hope for America Rallies throughout the NY District.

The first one will take place this Saturday, August 30th in downtown White Plains, (corner of Martine Ave. and Court St.) 12 noon to 1 pm. That will be followed by a lunch and discussion at 170 E Post Rd (2 blocks away) 2 nd floor, (in the Author Murray Dance Studio).

AND IN WESTROCK: Divine Principle Study & Discussion: held Mondays, 7:30 - 8:30pm at the White House.

Pastor’s Weekly Greeting Greetings!

This coming week we will have our first Rally – continuing the God’s Hope for America Spirit in the NY District

Come and join us – it will not be long (one hour), and although there may not be a lot of people on the streets on a Saturday – on Labor Day weekend, this is an important step.

As the saying goes, “If you don’t go fishing, you won’t catch fish.”

I know this may not be the best way to meet people – but it is one way, and by participating – you may get inspired (and determined) to find a better way!

To make it easier we prepared some beautiful cards that you could just hand to people. DON”T WORRY ABOUT RESULT - just come, get some fresh air, a fresh experience with brothers and sisters and with our

Heavenly Parents, and just decide to smile and give God’s love to others.

The location is in downtown White Plains – the corner of Martine Ave, and Court St. (if you are not sure how to get there – give me a call (917-533-8262)) The plan is to sing a couple of songs, read a short passage from Father’s speech, and then hand out cards and invite people to join you for some lunch and conversation (we will have food and space to sit and talk and introduce your guest to others from 1:00 pm – just 2 blocks away, 170 E Post Rd, 2nd floor, in the Author Murray Dance Studio.

Hello, Rev. Compton. I just came back from Korea. This is a summary of my experiences.

I arrived on Monday afternoon. We were accommodated in the Youth Center, located next to the Stadium.

Tuesday Morning we went to the stadium. We were sat in the lower level, very close to true Mother. There were around 25000 people in attendance. The stage was decorated with cardboard replicas of American landmarks. The theme of the event was True Parents providence in the Americas. Our STF second generation danced a tribute combination of break dance and ballet which was an excellent introduction to the event. Later a US congressman offered an apology representing the US for sending our True father to Danbury. Our True Mother gave a speech asking us to move forward together in unity to accomplish Vision 2020. The event ended with a long musical-theatrical True Parent course in North and South America.

The second day, the international representatives were invited to visit the Holy Palace. There, we prayed in front of Father’s graveyard. Later, True Mother listened to reports from our church main organizations. For lunch, we were invited to share a banquet with True Mother & True Family. Entertainment followed. Later we attended the introduction to the Conference for the Strategy towards Vision 2020. Sun Jin Nim gave the opening words emphasizing that we should stay healthy to be able to move forward. She told us that in Hawaii TM got up every morning at 4 am and walk through the beach around 2 hours.

The third day, before I left for the airport, I listened to a report from a Japanese national Messiah in Paraguay. He was part of a 12 Japanese national messiahs sent by Father to Leda, a barren land in the middle of the Chaco, Paraguay, to create a community which would exemplify environment preservation and natural food production. In only 15 years they accomplished incredible success, such as: vegetable and animal farming, running water and electricity, a facility for conventions and so on. The Paraguayan president visited the facilities and was very impressed with this place. True Mother gave special recognition to this group for their obedience and dedication.

I want to thank New York district for giving me the opportunity to be their representative.

Light Thought for the Day:

College Future A mother and father were chatting with their eight-year-old son about his future. The youngster said he’d

like to attend Cornell, as his parents and other members of the family had.

Pleased with his response, they pressed on. “What would you like to take when you attend college?” they asked the little boy.

After giving it some thought and glancing around the kitchen, he replied, “The refrigerator, if you can get along without it.”

Announcements: Announcements

 National Honoring of the 2nd Anniversary of True Father’s Seong Hwa: Saturday, September 20, at the Manhattan Center. First there will be a program open to all members and guests. Later, there will be a banquet lunch (tickets for the lunch will be required). Times and ticket fees to be announced.  DP Study & Discussion at the White House: Monday evenings 7:30 PM.

 Sept. 5 - 6, Friday evening and Saturday, Mr. Gerry Servito will be giving a Unification Thought Workshop at the White House. It is especially for young adults, but all are welcome. Mr. Servito has given this content of Divine Principle to many young people for many years, making it far from dry, but interesting and enjoyable! Details to come but save the date.

 The Second Annual Eric Holt Memorial Golf Outing will be held on Sunday, Aug 31 at the Rockland Lake NY Golf Course following Sunday Service at Belvedere. Eric was an avid golfer and this was his favorite golf venue. Those interested in participating should contact Noah Ross.

Signatures for the apology campaign for True Father’s wrongful imprisonment are being collected. If you have not signed yet, go to http://familyfed.org/danburyapology   Special Offering for the 2nd Anniversary of True Father’s Seonghwa Each individual and family is asked to donate $120 and $210 respectively. In addition, members are asked to make a 2nd offering (of the same amount) to support the American celebration which will take place on Sept 20 at the Manhattan Center. Donations should be made out to HSA-UWC. Thank you!
