The Sermon this Week The sermon, given at Belvedere was given by Andrew Compton. The title was, “Me and the Greater Community”. If you missed it, or would like to view it again, here is the link. Part 1: http://vimeo.com/94251196 Part 2: http://vimeo.com/94263017

Pastor’s Weekly Greeting Hello Brothers and sisters,

This past Sunday my sermon was on our relationship with the greater community. At the beginning of the sermon I showed a new 10 minute DP introductory video.

I would like to encourage you to take a look at it on line. It is one of 20 videos that give an overview of the DP. Each video is about 10 minutes – and so the series is named, “DP in 10”

You can watch the one I showed this Sunday (the first in the series) and the other videos at www.familyfedny.org

This website is intended to be a tool to help you in your witnessing. Please check it out.

And I want to encourage all of us to at least experiment with the small group theme that has been so successful in Brazil – and that is to set internal weekly goals for our life of faith. Let’s not allow time to pass us by, but to make each week count in our effort to fulfill the 2020 motto – and become true owners of God’s will.

I look forward to seeing everyone on June 8 at our District-wide Sunday service. It will be a good chance to see and to share with one another as members of our Heavenly Parent’s family!

Let’s work hard to improve ourselves and in so doing make our world a better place

God Bless You and your Family! Andrew Compton

Testimonies/Reports

National Council Meeting (by Noah Ross) The first National Council of FFWPU in the US, formed by the National Charter, met in Las Vegas on May 26 – 27. The Council is comprised of elected representatives from each of the 12 districts and Alexa Ward, the National Vice President. In the first meeting, the Council elected officers and formed committee to execute its responsibilities under the Charter. Noah Ross was elected chair, David Burgess Vice Chair and Libby Henkin Secretary. The Charter committee proposes charter improvements, the Finance committee helps improve financial transparency, the Grants Committee will approve grants to local churches, the Judicial committee reviews whistleblower and other complaints and the Recommendations committee makes strategic recommendations for the development of our church. The National Council members will continue their work over the summer and meet again in October.

If you have a testimony or report to share please send it to me.

(In preparation for Mother’s Day) Cross-Country Move When we moved across the country, my wife and I decided to drive both of our cars. Nathan, our eight- year-old, worriedly asked, “How will we keep from getting separated?”

“We’ll drive slowly so that one car can follow the other,” I reassured him.

“Yeah, but what if we DO get separated?” he persisted.

“Well, then I guess we’ll never see each other again,” I quipped.

“Okay,” he said. “I’m riding with Mom.”
