I am so impressed by our community – everyone was happy to give to Catherine Neslon (my side kick for the sermon) and I think we were all touched by her spontaneous offering to the Filipino community suffering from the typhoon. Thank you everyone for having such beautiful hearts.

Please take note that we have several students from Sun Moon University staying here this week. They will be meeting with all who are interested in the scholarship programs that are being offered – this Friday, Jan 24, 7 pm at the White House. I encourage parents and youth to attend.

Also – I want to encourage everyone to purchase at least 1 DP book for our 20/20 nation – the Solomon Islands. We want to ship a few cases to them as soon as possible (our goal is 88, but if we can get pledges for just 10 more we will be able to send 2 cases (44 books).

And once again - We are getting closer to True Heavenly Parents Day, Jan 31. In preparation for the beginning of the 2nd year of Cheon Il Guk, Dr Balcomb invited everyone to participate in a prayer condition.

Here are the prayer points

1. Pray for True Mother’s health and protection.

2. Unite with True Parent’s desire that America succeed in our role as the Elder Son Nation.

3. Raise and educate new young pastors and ministers to lead our movement to 2020; and especially find those who are ready to answer True Mother’s call to study in Korea.

4. Bring Victory in Witnessing and Church Growth: Have faith in the goal of doubling membership in 2014, increasing to 50,000 by 2016 and beyond 500,000 by 2020.

5. Recommit ourselves and our families to True Father’s direction to be new Tribal Messiahs and reach our family and relatives, and commit to join regular witnessing and

outreach activities.

6. Pray for spiritual revival, uniting with True Father in heaven and True Mother on earth.

7. Give Generously: Tithe to build a healthy local church, and offer a National Tithe to save America.

Light Thought for the Day:

Animal Shelter My class was touring the local animal shelter, oohing and aahing over the lost and waiting-to-be-adopted animals.

One of my third grade boys was gazing intently at an elaborate aquarium full of different species of fish.

“They’re beautiful, aren’t they,” I commented.

He looked at me thoughtfully, then replied, “Yes, but I don’t understand…how can anyone lose a fish?”

 Feb 12 is Foundation Day (celebrated in the USA the night of Feb. 11) 

 The 20-20 Providence has begun! WestRock and Upstate have been paired 

with the Solomon Islands and Italy. Metro NY and Long Is have been paired with Nepal and Israel.

Community  Foundation Day: is coming, Feb 12. We will gather at Belvedere for the live broadcast from Korea on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7 pm

 WEDNESDAY NIGHT PRAYER: There will be an open prayer again this Wednesday evening (1/22). The time has been changed to 9:30pm so that you can come after your small group meeting or other planned event. It will be a short prayer focused on one of the 21 Minute Prayer points.  Foundation Day Donation: True Parents have asked each family to make a Foundation Day offering of $130 or more. At a time when True Mother is raising funds to educate and raise up our youth, let’s do our best to show her our love and support!

 God’s Day, TP Birthday and Talent Show: we will have midnight prayer on Jan 30 at the Belvedere Holy Rock and a 7 am God’s Day pledge service on Jan 31 at the Training Center. The offering table and celebration will take place on Sunday Feb 2 at East Garden at 10 am. At that time we will serve a simple lunch and there will be a talent show. If you would like to participate please contact Andrew Compton or Dominic Barber.

 Project 20/20 Solomon Islands: We are asking members to help send 88 Color coded DP books to the Solomon Is. They are using them in their one-on-one witnessing program. $20 sends them one book.

Prayer  Laura Nabetani – she continues to fight pneumonia and other health challenges. She is now in the White Plains hospital.

 Jiau-Lan Weinstein – she continues her fight with lung cancer
