WestRock Family Church News for October 20, 2013

Last week was the anniversary for the 6,000 couple blessing. Now, this week I want to congratulate our 777 couples on their 43rd anniversary – Takeshi and Yukiko Furuta (just had a new granddaughter), Peter and Phyllis Kim, Masahisa and Yoko Kobayashi, Kiyoshi and Fumiko Seino, and Takashi and Motoko Sugiyama. CONGRATULATIONS! Thank you for your many years of devotion and for being our elders. Please continue to share with us your wisdom and good counsel.
Thank you everyone for your prayers for True Mother. I have been hearing good news from her visit to Japan. And I have been hearing rumors that it may not be too long before she comes to visit America. Let’s prepare ourselves.
On Saturday Oct 12 the local pastors of NY District met at the White House in Tarrytown. We reviewed the Local Church Charter which is being drafted by our National Council – for use by local churches. It was a very stimulating meeting – Dr Baclomb visited us, along with Bishop Ki Hoon Kim. They both shared some important insights. Although there may seem to be some uncertainty – True Mother is not uncertain in the least. She is moving forward with strength and confidence and she is calling on all Blessed Families to unite with her at this time. Based on her direction we are doing our best to usher in new, younger leadership and to encourage the spirit of witnessing and the sharing of the DP.(This is why we now have a pastors search committee - to choose younger leadership for our WestRock Community.)
This past Sunday my sermon was on prayer. Please take conscientious steps to ensure that you nourish your spirit each day with reflection and prayer. If we are going to transform ourselves and our community - I think it needs to begin with an internal change in our hearts that is centered on our fundamental relationship as children before our Heavenly Parent.
Thank you for your hard work. Let’s make this a great week!
God Bless You Andrew Compton
