Congratulations to our photo contest winners – thank you to Charles Patterson who organized the contest. I also must thank our speakers and performers – Daryl Clarke, Yoko Kobayashi, Bob Smart, and Susan Bouachri who gave testimonies. Also Raoul Joseph and the Band who did a beautiful adaptation of “He Has Called Me.”, Steve Honey together with Jonathan Gullery who performed True Father’s song “Blessing of Glory,” Tiara Borneman and Marina Karr who performed a beautiful classical piece, and – the Reiner girls, Sunhwa & Jisun who sang to a slide show of TP’s photos, “Lift Me Up.” And Jeremy Kitchens did an incredibly professional rap performance.

Finally thank you to Justin Okamoto, our Emcee for part 2. He is going to be on our WestRock staff for the next 7 months – helping me, but most importantly working to create a young adult ministry. Please give him your support and prayers.

Reflecting on the anniversary of True Father’s Ascension, I want to encourage everyone to invest your energy in uniting with True Mother. She is our True Parent. She and True Father are bound together eternally. These few years until her passing will be the final period that True Parents are present on this earth. It is True Father’s final opportunity, through True Mother, to set things as they should be. To the very end True Father gave of himself as an offering. Because of that fact, he could not take care of every detail of every project. Thank God True Mother is here and able to guide the formation of our constitution and provide us with Hoondokae materials, Father’s words, in a way that can be used more effectively.

When True Father passed, the clergy I meet with each month in the “Tarrytown Clergy Association” – felt sorry for me. One minister wondered if we were depressed – that Rev Moon, who we believed was the messiah, did not resurrect and therefore was not God’s son.

In the early church the early disciples were in total confusion – losing faith in Jesus. The only way to start God’s providence was for Jesus to appear for 40 Days – and then the Holy Spirit began to work. How well did that go? Before too long Christians were killing Christians. In our situation we have True Mother – who is the victorious Eve, the substantial Holy Spirit. How incredible! And we have Blessed Couples united with our True Parents centered on True Mother. If True Father is going to appear somewhere – where will it be? He is already one with True Mother – why would he try to guide others in important providential matters in any way, but through her. I believe that when True Mother joins

True Father in the heavenly realm – then together, they will appear to those living on the earth and they will guide us in what we need to do.

In the Divine Principle (Chapter 1, 3.2) it states: Based on the discussion thus far, we can understand that the Kingdom of Heaven resembles a person who has achieved individual perfection, taking after God’s original internal nature and external form. In an individual, the mind’s command is transmitted to the whole body through the central nervous system, causing the body to act with one purpose. Likewise, in the Kingdom of Heaven, God’s direction will be conveyed to all His children through the True Parents of humankind, guiding everyone to live as one.

Light Thought for the Day:

Knitting Many years ago my wife was to knitting what Tiger Woods is to golf. She designed exotic patterns with ease. There was an occasion when we had lunch in a real Chinese restaurant (only one person spoke partial English, all menus were in Chinese). When she saw the hand-written menu she was so impressed with the calligraphy she tucked the menu in her purse. Some months later I saw the result, a stunning white sweater with the Chinese symbols hand-stitched down the front.

She received compliments galore until one cocktail party when we met a distinguished Chinese physician who asked my wife where she got the symbols. He then wanted to know if she knew what they meant.

“I’m afraid to ask,” she said, “but tell me anyway.”

Even she had to laugh when he told her they read, “This is a cheap dish--but good.”

Testimonies/reports

On Saturday Aug 24 we had a great “Bookmarks for Peace” program at the White House in Tarrytown. There were 20 members and 5 guests. 2 of them came for the first time. 1 of them, a 20 year old student, was met in downtown White Plains through the survey. She stayed for the BBQ and is planning to come again Friday to study DP.
