July 21, 2013 Era of the Victory, Liberation, and Completion of the True Parents of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind

Weekly Greeting Table of Contents Greetings! . Weekly greeting and This past Sunday the title to my sermon was “Sharing God’s Love with Others – It Takes a Testimonies Community” . Sermon Notes . Light Thought If we want to give life to others – we can’t do it on our own. Our challenge is to go at least for the day one step beyond our family and create a tribe – a group of families – that is bound together in . Testimony love, sharing together the goals and purpose of our True Parents. Of course, if you can do that . Providential with your own relatives and contacts, that’s great. But most of us need to build that “Tribe” of News families with the other Blessed Central Families in our area. And, for that to happen we need to spend time with each other, doing things together. Sunday service is good, but not enough. . Quote for the Week I want to encourage us all to do our best to spend 2 other days of the week (another 3 hours) . with other families – studying DP together, witnessing together, having meals together, going Announcements to the beach together and doing other fun things together. If we think of such activities as being secondary – that they are not really that crucial – and we regard other activities as primary (money, job, career, etc.) this isn’t going to work. We aren’t going to become that community of life that is able to give life to others.

Let’s make this a great week! God Bless You Andrew Compton

Sorry, no recording this week, I had technical difficulties

Light Thought for the Day:

Wedding Advice At a wedding, the DJ polled the guests to see who had been married longest. The bride’s grandparents took the honors.

The DJ asked them: “What advice would you give to the newly-married couple?”

The grandmother said: “The three most important words in a marriage are, ‘You’re probably right.’”

Everyone then looked at the grandfather for his answer.

He, wisely, answered: “She’s probably right.”

Testimonies/reports

I had a great experience this past Sunday. I took the handmade bookmarks,

that we (members and guests) had made, and set them on display on a table on Broadway – just next to the entrance to Columbia University. I was amazed at how many people were on the street. Next to me were street sellers selling all kinds of things – it was like a mini farmers market.

It was a great joy to invite everyone to take a bookmark and to offer a donation, whatever amount they felt like giving (donations go to the Jean – Marie Foundation orphanage and school in Haiti). Some gave, most didn’t, but it was a great way to meet and talk with people. One person signed up to help create bookmarks at our next Bookmarks for Peace event.

I am going to try again this week – with an improved display board. I will go Sunday from 1-3pm (so we can attend the Seiko Lee concert at the New Yorker) If you are interested in participating, please give me a call. Andrew Compton

If you have a testimony or report to share please send it to me.
