Era of the Victory, Liberation, and Completion of May 26, 2013 the True Parents of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind

Weekly Greeting

Table of Contents Dear Brothers and Sisters,

. Weekly greeting Greetings! and Testimonies This past week a wonderful brother of ours, Eric Holt, passed on to the spiritual . Sermon Notes world. I have always regarded Eric as a dear friend and bother. We both joined the church in 1971. We first met in 1973 when I was on my first pioneer mission – . Light Thought for starting up a church center in Richmond, Virginia. He was on an IOWC the day (International One World Crusade) team that came through. True Father had sent out one pioneer to each state – and then he created several IOWC teams that traveled . Testimony from the west to the east, stopping to give a boost to the new church centers.

. Providential News I am sure that was Eric’s first mission as well. That was 40 years ago. Eric served God and True Parents faithfully in America for 40 years. As his elder son, Shayne, . Quote for the shared at the Seong Hwa ceremony, “I never once heard my father express a word of complaint.” That is an incredible testimony. Eric ultimately gave his life for God’s Week providence in this nation. . Announcements Whenever I see that number 40 – I know that God is telling us something. Eric’s passing was not just a random event. He was one of 3 whom True Mother called on to take care of God’s providence in America. It is clear that Eric’s life and his passing was something significant for the accomplishment of God’s providence.

I firmly believe that because of his offering – our Heavenly Parent will be able to accomplish great things – but only if, we do our part and unite with True Mother’s direction.

This was memorial day weekend – a time when we need to stop and honor those who gave their lives for this country (see the Quote for the Week below). I think we can include Eric in that list of names.

Thank you Eric for your friendship! But more importantly, as disciples of our True Parents working in America, let’s thank him for what he offered through his life for God’s will – and let’s each make a personal determination that we will do more to save this nation.

God Bless You! Andrew Compton

This Sunday Rev Grodner gave the sermon at Belvedere: He shared about our dear brother Eric Holt, his love for golf, and went on to share some life

lessons that can be learned from golf. If you missed the sermon the audio is available: https://soundcloud.com/pastor-andrew/sermon-13-05-26-gev-grodner

Light Thought for the Day

In honor of Eric (who loved puns) here are a few: I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger. Then it hit me.

Did you hear about the guy whose whole left side was cut off? He’s all right now.

I’m reading a book about anti-gravity. It’s impossible to put down.

It’s not that the man did not know how to juggle, he just didn’t have the balls to do it.

I’m glad I know sign language, it’s pretty handy.

I couldn’t quite remember how to throw a boomerang, but eventually it came back to me.

Did you hear about the guy who got hit in the head with a can of soda? He was lucky it was a soft drink.

Show me a piano falling down a mineshaft and I’ll show you A-flat minor.

(protect me Eric, this one might get me fired) A hole has been found in the nudist camp wall. The police are looking into it.

Testimonies/reports

If you have a testimony or report to share please send it to me.

Quote for the Week

“It is, in a way, an odd thing to honor those who died in defense of our country in wars far away. The imagination plays a trick. We see these soldiers in our mind as old and wise. We see them as something like the Founding Fathers, grave and gray- haired. But most of them were boys when they died, they gave up two lives — the one they were living and the one they would have lived. When they died, they gave up their chance to be husbands and fathers and grandfathers. They gave up their chance to be revered old men. They gave up everything for their county, for us. All we can do is remember.”

-- Ronald Wilson Reagan Remarks at Veteran’s Day ceremony, Arlington National Cemetery Arlington, Virginia, November 11, 1985
