Quote for the Week him to come to our church service, which he did 2 weeks ago. Afterwards he listened to the Introduction to the DP. This week he attended the service with my wife and I in Manhattan – and then heard Chapter 1 of the DP. It is wonderful to see someone . Announcements uplifted by the DP and by the witness of our community (he is especially inspired by our interracial mix)
To support you in this effort we have printed 1000 outreach cards (with all the correct information on them). These cards are available at the White House – they will be in the front door entry-way. Please take them as you need. I would suggest that we each make a goal to give out a certain number each day or each week.
Another support for outreach is the upcoming Philippine Cultural Program, Saturday May 25 (at 4 pm at the Jewish Community Center) and the following Day, the Spring Festival on Sunday May 26. For Sunday, you can invite guests to the sermon, or invite them just for the festival. Either way I promise they will have a good experience.
And don’t forget, on June 1 (Saturday) we will have a Small Groups Seminar at Belvedere from 9 am to 3:30 pm. (see the announcements below). Our Small Groups are going to be essential – to support each of us, and to support our new guests as they begin a DP oriented life of faith.
Finally, I just learned that our beloved brother Eric Holt is in the ICU at St John’s Hospital in Yonkers. He is fighting with cancer of the liver. Please pray for him and his family.

Light Thought for the Day
Getting A’s A professor stood before his class of senior biology students, about to hand out the final exam. “I want to say that it’s been a pleasure teaching you this semester. I know you’ve all worked extremely hard and many of you are off to medical school after the summer. I don’t want anyone to get their GPA messed up because they might have been celebrating a bit too much this week, so anyone who would like to opt out of the final exam now will receive a ‘B’ for the course.”
Naturally, there was much rejoicing in the class as students got up, walked to the front of the class and took the professor up on his offer.
As the last taker left the room, the professor looked out over the handful of remaining students and asked, “Anyone else? This is your last chance.” One final student rose up and opted out of the final.
The professor closed the door and took attendance of those students remaining. “I’m glad to see you believe in yourself,” he said. “You all get ‘A’s.”
