[Monthly Joseon] ‘Sowing the seeds for changing the “world of pain” to a “world of peace”’

Universal Peace Federation hosting commemorative events for the birthday of its founders and Foundation Day

Approaching the birthday of Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han (January 6, lunar calendar) and Foundation Day (January 13, lunar calendar), the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (below Family Federation) will hold commemorative events for its founders’ birthdays and Foundation Day, for two weeks, starting on the 22nd.

The first event, “2018 Commemoration Ceremony of the Birthday of Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han,” was held in the morning on February 21, at the Cheongshim Peace World Center, which is located in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do. The event was attended by both incumbent and former Chairmen of the National Assembly, as well as 200 members of congress, 200 religious leaders of Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and other religions, leaders of NGOs from the areas of religion, diplomacy, education and culture. Participating as well, were followers of the Family Federation from 90 countries

including the USA, Japan, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, the UK, France, Russia, Ukraine and Israel. Approximately 30,000 people attended the event in total.

Among the participants from overseas were former President of Paraguay Frederico Franco Gomez, former Prime Minister of Togo Agbéyomé Kodjo, President of the Senate of Burundi Reverien Ndikuriyo, Chairman of the National Assembly of Madagascar Jean Max Rakotomamonjy, Chairman of the National Assembly of Fiji Jiko Fatafehi Luveni, President of the Senate of Saint Lucia Andy Glenn Daniel, former US Congressman Dan Burton (14 terms) and former Representative of the Philippines Jose De Venecia.
