‘Become the Light of the World through a Filial Heart (Hyo Jeong) for Heaven’

On the 29th, in the afternoon, Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) held the “Leader’s Briefing Session of the Victory Commemorating the 4th Memorial Anniversary of Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Seonghwa” in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Area at the Hotel Inter-Burgo EXCO in Daegu. This event was held to commemorate the thought and principle taught by FFWPU founder Rev. Sun Myung Moon, who dedicated his entire life to world peace and human salvation, as well as the reunification of the Korean peninsula.

Over 420 participants attended the event, including leaders from various walks of life such as FFWPU Korea President Kyeung-Seuk Lu, Chairman of Tongil Group Yun-Gi Choi, the Venerable Seongta,Head Monk at the Jogye Order Bulguk Temple and the Vice-Chairman of Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council Du-Ouk Jang, as well as local representatives of cities, counties and districts throughout the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area. The event, presided over by Vice-President of FFWPU Korea Hyun-Yung Lee, began with a reporting prayer by FFWPU Gyeongbuk Regional Leader Jang-Jin Jin, followed by a commemorative video of Rev. Sun Myung Moon, a welcoming address by Tongil Group Chairman Yun- Gi Choi, condolatory speeches by the Venerable Seongta, Head Monk at the Jogye Order Bulguk Temple and Vice-Chairman of Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council Du-Ouk Jang, a commemorative speech by FFWPU Korea President Kyeung-Seuk Lu, a proclamation of victory by the Chairman of the Ambassadors for Peace Council in Daegu Yong-Hee Yun and a dinner banquet.

Tongil Group Chairman Yun-Gi Choi stated, “Rev. Sun Myung Moon had always held strong aspirations to realize a peaceful world on the earth and gave us missions and requests,” and promoted a resolution for the “FFWPU to be active in more than 200 nations in the world to unite and keep on carrying forward the missions given to us by Rev. Moon.”

Then the Venerable Seongta, Head Monk at the Jogye Order Bulguk Temple gave an affective condolatory speech. “True Love and True Family Movements carried out by late Rev. Sun Myung Moon in all parts of the globe were an expression of hope for humanity, a way of human salvation, a proclamation of an ethics revolution and a seed of human consciousness. To realize peace, you must recognize one another. Peace is achieved when you respect each other and live for the sake of each other. Rev. Moon had left behind his will for us to practice a life for the sake of others. I strongly remember that when I put my head together with other religious leaders, including Protestant ministers and elders, Buddhist monks, Cheondogyo leaders, Catholic priests and nuns, etc., who have become Ambassadors for Peace by overcoming the differences of religions and denominations, it made me feel the universal truth in my body that ‘God desires only peace, and peace is the only way for human beings to live in happiness.’ The mission of the peace ideal Rev. Moon sought to realize on the earth is now ours. Let us make a determination to march forward without stopping, together with Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, who has

stood as the spearhead of peace activists in obedience to Rev. Moon’s will. All humanity shall follow the way of life you had shown us in person through your 93 years of life as a ‘peace loving global citizen.’ In past, present or future, you will always remain as the ‘peace loving global citizen.’”

Following this, came a condolatory speech by the Vice-Chairman of Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council, Du-Ouk Jan. He claimed, “I came to know about Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s thought and global peace movements when I participated in an Ambassadors for Peace Seminar in Japan. Rev. Moon invested everything and offered sincerity for reunification of the Korean Peninsula and for world peace. As we mark the 4th Memorial Anniversary of Rev. Moon’s Seonghwa, we shall hold hands with Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, who is still marching forward in this great journey for peace, and march together in this great journey to realize world peace!”

Explaining the significance of the Briefing Session in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area, FFWPU Korea President Kyeung-Seuk Lu stated in his commemorative speech, “We usually end our lives without being able to figure out what a meaningful life may be. Nothing is more precious than living with a figure who will guide you to happiness.” He then recalled Rev. Moon, who “guided us throughout his life as a teacher and a true master.” He continued, “Over the next four years, Korea and the world will be facing various changes, and will have to find solutions for many social problems such as conflicts between social classes, economic crises and low birthrates,” and said, “The 4th Memorial Anniversary of Rev. Moon’s Seonghwa is an opportunity for us to carve deeply into our hearts the principle of Rev. Moon, who advocated for movements to love heaven, love humankind and love one’s country, based on trust and unconditional love.” He then emphasized, “FFWPU shall carry out the ‘Vision 2020 Movement’ until the year 2020, and surely fulfill Rev. Moon’s desire to realize a world of ‘One Family under God.’”

FFWPU has been practicing the ultimate purpose of Heavenly providence; the ideal of “One Family under God (firm settlement and safe arrival of God’s Nation)” on the foundation of three years of mourning and devotion after Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Seonghwa on September 3, 2012 (July 17 by the lunar calendar), and has been delivering messages of hope and life to “forgive, love and unite” to humanity who is suffering from ongoing international, religious, ethnical and cultural conflicts, as well as environmental problems and climate change, by casting light upon the achievements of the peace movements carried out by Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, who have devoted themselves toward the realization of a peaceful world and the salvation of humankind.

The “Invitational Leader’s Briefing Sessions,” are scheduled to be held not only in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area, but also in the Seoul area, Gyeonggi Bukbu-Gangwon area, Incheon-Gyeonggi- Nambu area, Honam area, Chunbu area and conclude in the Busan-Gyeongnam area…

On the 29th, the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) held the “Invitational Leader’s Briefing Session of the Victory Commemorating the 4th Memorial Anniversary of Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Seonghwa” in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area at the Hotel Inter-Burgo EXCO.

This event was prepared to commemorate the thought and principle of FFWPU founder Rev. Sun Myung Moon, and to effectively convey and develop them.
