As we approach the year 2016, the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation held the “Fourth Scholarship Award Ceremony” on the 14th at the Cheong Shim International Youth Training Center Gymnasium in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do

On this day, the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation presented 2,000 students with global scholarships totaling 10 billion won.

A total of 800 individuals were present at the award ceremony, including the founder of the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation Chair Yeon- Ah Moon, Dongguk University Director Sungta Sunim, Korean Cultural Foundation Director Hoon Sook Moon, Segye Ilbo President Min-Ha Kim, FFWPU Korea President Kyeung-Seuk Ryu, FFWPU Japan President Yong-Cheon Song, VIPs from Korea and abroad, as well as scholarship recipients.

The event began with a representative prayer from FFWPU Korea President Kyeung-Seuk Ryu and continued with progress reports, videos, a welcoming address by Dr. Yeon-Ah Moon, congratulatory remarks by Sungta Sunim, a celebratory

performance by 70 global scholarship students, main address by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, founder of the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation, concluding with the presentation of scholarships and volunteer awards.

Dr. Yeon-Ah Moon emphasized in her welcoming address, “These scholarship students should carry big dreams and fulfill their calling to create a better future.”

Sungta Sunim shared with the scholarship and volunteer award recipients, “Find the cause of the problems within yourself and change them. Value each moment and listen to the voice within you. Become great captains of your life’s voyage.”

Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, founder of the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation proclaimed, “Everyone that attended this event has been blessed by heaven.” She entreated everyone to “become the members of this new age who will establish a future of true hope and a world of one human family.”

Each year, the Foundation selects 500 Korean students and 1,500 students from other nations as scholarship awardees.

Starting from this year, the newly-adopted “Interreligious Scholarship Institution” held the “Junior Religious Harmony Camp,” with Korean students, as well as 100 additional scholarship students representing the ten main religious bodies of Korea, including Buddhism, Islam, etc.

The students recommended to represent the ten main religious bodies were awarded scholarships and given the opportunity to participate in the “Interreligious Camp.”

On this day, the Foundation also awarded five individuals and volunteer groups that had organized model volunteer activities in the past year, including the “Shinae Social Welfare Center,” the “Dangjin Multicultural Center,” etc.

The Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation was first advocated by the late Rev. Sun Myung Moon, founder of the FFWPU and its renowned peace movement, to expand educational and social support for promising youth, and was later funded and established by his wife Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon on February 20, 2013.

Since its inception, the Foundation has presented 10 billion won in scholarships each year to 2,000 students from approximately 70 nations.
