Family Federation's True Family Values Ministry holds 20th Anniversary in USA

[Yonhap News] Family Federation, True Family Values Ministry 20th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony Held

The Family Federation of World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) revealed on the 13th that the “True Family Value Ministry 20th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony” took place with Dr. Hak Ja Han and 700 Korean, American and Japanese FFWPU leaders participating, in Las Vegas, USA on the 12th.

On this day, the event proceeded in the order of the opening declaration by FFWPU American President Michael Balcomb, a benediction by the American Religious Leaders Council’s Archbishop George Stallings, a welcoming speech by FFWPU North American Continental President Ki-Hoon Kim and a keynote address by Dr. Hak Ja Han.

The Family Federation first held its True Family Values Award Ceremony in 1996, and opened events where awards were given to families that contributed toward spreading the importance of families and to solving the problems within families…

The Family Federation of World Peace and Unification opened the “True Family Values Ministry 20th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony” at the International Peace Education Center in Las Vegas, USA, at 10 a.m. (local time) on the 12th.

On this day at the event, 700 people participated including Dr. Hak Ja Han, as well as representatives from Korea, America and Japan, local leaders from various religions and the Peace Ambassadors of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF).

In her keynote address Dr. Hak Ja Han premised, “Parents wish for their children to live better than themselves,” and set a future course of action by saying, “We must create an environment where the wish of the Heavenly Parent and of mankind, world peace, can come true. Will you participate in doing this?”

On the 7th in New York, USA, Women’s Federation for World Peace International President Yeon-Ah Moon recited the message that Dr. Hak Ja Han expressed at the True Family Values Ministry 20th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony.

“Since 1971, when family values were swiftly crumbling, Reverend Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han have proclaimed the ‘Ideal and Value of the True Family’ in order to fulfill the ideal of ‘One Family Under God.’ They invited 5,000 religious leaders from all over America to Washington in 1966, and educated them on the importance of a true family. They (Reverend Moon and Dr. Han) did their utmost for the ethical recovery and revival of America to solve problems such as divorce, juvenile delinquency and free sex.

Reverend Moon and Dr. Han started the True Family Values movements in full-scale from the 1996, in the United States. At the beginning of every December at the end of each year, they gathered local economic, religious, women and nongovernmental leaders to educate on the value of the family. They also selected and awarded families that realized the importance of family and solved family problems. Co-founder of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon emphasized the value of mankind as one family centered on God in her keynote address at the “True Family Value Ministry 20th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony” that took place at the International Peace Education Center in Las Vegas, Nevada State, USA on the 12th (local time). At the event on this day, 700 people including American religious leaders, Korean, American, and Japanese Family Federation district leaders, and Peace Ambassadors participated.

Dr. Han said, “The development of human civilization is paradoxically creating serious problems regarding our survival in the future, namely climate change and food shortages,” and emphasized, “God’s wish is for the seven billion people on Earth to live happily with prosperity, and for this to come true mankind must realize that everyone is one family.” She then went on to say, “Reverend Sun Myung Moon and myself have stayed in America for over 30 years, blessing it, in order to educate America that it had to take responsibility for the whole world”, and further added, “It is not too late for America to recover the value of family, to prevent losing the position as a leading country, and to protect and lead the world into an environment of peace.”

In his benediction, American Religious Leaders Council Joint Chairman (Archbishop) Stallings said, “The True Family Values Movement is a gift that mankind received from Reverend Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon,” and emphasized, “The True Family Movement that tells us that mankind

must transcend race, religion and nationality in our mission to fulfill the will of God and of course, Jesus Christ.” In his welcoming speech, Family Federation North American Continental President Ki-Hoon Kim expressed, “Mankind must surpass the extremism of religion and plan for the future.” And Women’s Federation for World Peace World President Yeon-Ah Moon said in her commemoration message, “Reverend Moon and Dr. Han did their utmost throughout their whole lives to recover and let prosper the ethics in America.”
